So that is 7m more than they have spent on a baseball stadium to this point.

I can't even imagine being a highly sought after high school baseball recruit, and visiting Marshall to look at their facilities. Our high school park in Fayetteville is 5x nicer than that YMCA field they currently play on. Even Western Michigan has a pretty cool baseball stadium, albeit, relatively small (seating capacity) but it's still half empty during most games.

It is an complete waste of money...girlfriends and parents can sit in lawn chairs and watch their loved ones play at Ritter Park, IMHO!

If you want to see an incredible sports complex check out Doddridge County High School. Softball field, baseball field, football field, and an area for field events in track and field. All are completely artificial turf. Built with oil and gas money.

Pretty much every HS in that area is that way now thanks to OG money.

A lot of other additions to that Hs are donation funded. Amazing what can get done when a school uses local resources to grow instead of waiting on the state school monies.

Not sure why Marshall can’t pay the city and just build near St Cloud Commons where the old minor league field used to be.
