We've got the 6th largest mall in the country nearby, Destiny, and they keep making it bigger and bigger. With the shift to online shopping, I'm not sure where that's headed.

This is what terrible management will do for you. Sears and K-Mart deserve what has happened. Good companies will survive and prosper.

No surprise here. Sears has been struggling for years now. New CEO, reorganizations, etc. Box stores were dealt a mortal wound and are slowly bleeding to death. Maybe the hardware stores will survive

Possibly but no time soon seeing as online sales is about 8% of total retail sales in the U.S. Of course there are lots of alternatives to big box retail but I wouldn't start feeling sorry for Walmart and other big box retailers just yet.

I'd wager within 10 years we will be at nearly 50%.

It won't be about the retail storefront, it will be about the retail distribution.
