This team is like Stansbury’s & Sherrill’s last few teams all over again. Shrader probably had it coming, but if Gay isn’t suspended, we’ll know Moorhead has completely lost control.

Suspend a guy for a locker room fight? Have you ever been in a football locker room? I’m guessing no.

This whole thing is so unbelievable. I’ve never heard of a player missing games for getting his *** kicked by a teammate.

I’m sure it’s happened. Probably.

I may be being naive but if Gay is not suspended it tells me Shrader really 17ed up.

Hell, he does have an orbital fracture like everyone reported!

This can't be true. Message board posters don't know ****. I know this because that's what Rupert told me before he got his *** banned.

People tend to forget that someone WAS kicked off the team for the basketball fight in the stands. It was the right one too. Fans didn't like that because the one that kicked off was liked by the fans and the other one wasn't. I agree, if Gay plays you know who was at fault for the fight.

You may be the only person on earth who thinks keeping Renardo was the right move. Even with hindsight.... If Stans kicked off the true team cancer, Renardo, he still may be coaching at MSU. That was the nail in the coffin.

There is so much smoke and ******** coming out the football "program" right now, I don't see how they're keeping up with all of it. I hope Cohen is happy.

Hell, even the water carriers over at Gene's Page can't keep their stories straight. As some point even they will get sick of defending this crap.

Well, if keeps changing so often, it’s not hard to see why they’d have trouble keeping up. Steve was denying there even was a fight just 2 days ago.

These guys are just toting water and writing what they're told. They end up looking silly over it at times, but they aren't going to risk their access. The thing that bugs me over it is that they don't admit when they're wrong; they just parse words and say they were right all along, and you're an idiot for questioning them. And then they have the sheep brigade that worship them and lap up everything they say. That place sucks since the merger.

Yeah, he and his Gene's Page brigade are doing their best.

How will we ever survive with all the downvotes?

There are multiple examples of someone punching a teammate in the NFL and the guy gets suspended or cut. No, this isn't the NFL, but they do have football locker rooms there and this sort of stuff has consequences. It should in college as well. This wasn't a shoving match, a player broke a teammates face. There should be punishment and in my opinion it should be him missing the bowl game. It's more important for Joe to send a message that jackassery won't be tolerated than it is to have Willie play in this game.

you don’t know what happened. If Gay would have hurt anyone else on the team I bet you wouldn’t feel this way. It’s because he hit the QB1. Maybe the QB1 deserved it.

So it’s Moorhead’s fault two kids fought in the locker room when he wasn’t present? What other “issues” are you talking about?

2019 has been a disaster for sure. Here is the timeline, outside of on-field results:

January: Bowl game loss
January: Tutorgate rumors first emerge with Nick Spoon
February: Losing out on some assistant coaches and recruits in February (still was a good class from Dec 2018, but losses nonetheless)
Spring/Summer: The QB fiasco, KT wins job and team, then we bring in Stevens, who is immediately voted captain (something off there)
Preseason: The idiotic use of the 8 game suspensions
Season: Stupid use of redshirts (namely Pickering)
Season: Stupid choice of playing Tommy when he was hurt
Season: Bad schedule in general, coupled with bad gameday management
Season: Your dad sucks incident
Season: Rumors of discontent and some attitudes among seniors
Egg Bowl: Sand pounding and rock kicking incident
December: Gay Beard Brawl

All that said, the December signings were great, and I still say the team never truly quit throughout all the turmoil. 2020 has an equal chance to be a total failure or a real story of determination and grit. It starts Monday, hopefully we turn the page and we start over 2 days later.

Inmates running the asylum. JoMo isn't going to punish anyone because he's struggling to keep his job. It's late Stansbury all over again.

Agree with everything except these 2.

It was fun watching Pickering get better and better.

the only questionable use of TutorGate players was Autry in USM game. But there was an injury that made him petition the NCAA to change plans there.

This team was THIN at DT as far as experience

I’ve never played organized football, nor have I ever been in a position to know what typically goes on at practice or in the locker room. As a true outsider, I’ve never heard more than passing rumors of fights or disagreements between players. I sure can’t recall anyone missing time because of it.

What I do know is that it was critical for Moorhead to lay low and give us a good bowl showing to try to get some fans back on board. Instead, message boards are blowing up about a fight between two key starters, resulting in injuries. I don’t care who started it. I care that it’s another example of how Moorhead can’t control the situation - before, during, or after the altercation.

We now have SIX defensive tackles in the sophomore class (Lovett, Crumedy, Love, Pickering, Young, Robinson). That is the EXACT type of situation that put us where we were last year, having to play two freshman tackles, except worse. We only lost 5 last year, and 1 was Simmons who left early.

As far as the suspensions, if you think the way we used them was good, that's fine, we did reach bowl eligibility I guess. But it also covertly signaled to our players that certain games were unwinnable and IMO was DIRECTLY responsible for some of the lackluster efforts in big games. However you want to look at it. And I get the logic about playing the best in the winnable games. I just don't agree that it's best over the long haul, for the morale of the team.
