Imo the state of WV needs 2 classes & not 4. The state is losing population for crying out loud and has been for years. It’s so bad WV will be down to 2 congressional seats after the 2020 census. They should do away with a class instead of adding one. I guess everyone needs a trophy nowadays though and the SSAC is all about Funneling the $$$$$$ into Wheeling Island and Charleston. And before anyone shoots me down, you do realize currently 48 high schools in WV go to the playoffs in High School football. According to the linked list there are 127 schools. For some reason the “school for the blind” is included and I don’t think they’re playing sports. Still you would have more than half the schools in the playoffs. What message are we sending if 16 out of 28 schools in some of these divisions get to go to the playoffs? You could be 5-5 in football and practically be guaranteed to be in. It’s as big of a joke as going 5-7 and getting a bowl game or buying your way into a tournament like the CTI or CBI-oh wait.
