I believe that was the deadline for submitting your name (paperwork). Not necessarily having it processed.
On the bright side, it makes more room for the new coach to bring in their players and promote playing time.
I would imagine there was a bit of a flood at the deadline and things are backed up.
Stringer really left the program in great shape after fleecing the university for that new contract.
The players in the portal could also decide to stay depending on who is hired. I don't blame them for entering the portal to keep their options open.

Most of these players came to play for Stringer. Why wouldn’t they enter the portal to see what’s out there, especially with there being a new coach come next season. Hopefully the new coach can sway some of the players to stay.
If it wasn't so sad I'd laugh. The decimation of a once proud powerhouse destroyed.
The only new transfer is Sanderlin. We knew on Senior Day that Petree and Lassister weren't coming back.
Those 2 were grad transfers. No surprise here and they were never expected to come back.
I read elsewhere that the grad transfers don't have to sit out a year regardless of when they enter the portal. Otherwise, the statement regarding underclassmen is correct, their Sunday deadline just passed and then there is a couple days for processing. Either midnight last night or today, I think is the "final" date.

The program is in free fall and no amount of votive-lighting at the cvs altar is going to make it any better! Not sorry if that offends. I have followed RU WBB since 1985…this is the worst shape the program has been in since…UNCOMFY FACT…

Why is it uncomfy - you are 100% correct that this is the worst shape the program has been in and until a new coach is in place, it isn't going to get any better.
I think it is perfectly ok to blame CVS if you want - although I think it was a combination of circumstances. Her decisions played a part in how it played out, but I continue to believe she thought she could come back and be successful, and, except for this past season, the immediately previous seasons were. At least by most teams standards, by Rutgers fan's standards it has been over 10 years since the seasons were acceptable.
