I could see the Freshmen Jones and Merritt getting in the rotation.

Not sure about Merritt. He had a labrum injury his senior year in HS, and that kept him out of spring practice.

I wonder how much that played into his decommit from Alabama.
He was never going to see the field at Bama. Tweener. Special teams player or a 4 year player that finally saw a few plays in washed games. He’ll be great here tho.

I expect Watson-Trent to start. Just basing that solely on his prior accomplishments. Most of these accomplished smaller school LB transfers to straight to the front of the line. Seems like it anyway.

I don't see how Shavers doesn't start and play huge minutes. Looks like an every down LB to me. Reminds me the most of any LB in years of a Lavonte type player that is solid in every package, every down.

Right now Javin Wright, Shavers and W-Trent will get most of the reps. Wright will be on the field on 3rd down, maybe the only LB in some packages.

Ochoa looked good the little bit I got to see of him. He needs to play some this fall

I haven't thought about Bowers but after Matt Rhule talked about him I took a look. I should have known this kid was a good player just by the talent of the high school league he played in, the Trinity League. The Trinity League is one of the top leagues in the country which has such members as Mater Dei, Servite, Orange Lutheran, St. John Bosco etc. We now need to get some great players from Mater Dei, they are a national power with 5 national Championships since 2017, 12 CIFSS Championships and 28 League Championships. We have Lateef and Bowers and we need to get a few more of those Trinity league players to sign with the Huskers.

The kid is a high end rugby player, and LB is the best position for rugby skills to translate.

Could be an answer at edge. Was impressed with him off the edge in bowl game. Looks like he's a natural pass rusher. Those guys are worth their weight in gold

Biggest surprise the spring camp is Walk on LB Bower. Bower is good enough that Nebraska is going to pay for his college according to Matt Rhule. I really look forward to this kid doing something very special this year and in years to come. Our LB room is much better because of this kid with the heart of a lion.
