I have no idea why but I swear we were a solid team until that point. Halftime of the CU game and it all changed.

Why don’t we seem to ever improve?

That’s when Rhule gave the “okay guys don’t be too disrespectful 🥺” speech and we’ve been soft ever since.

That’s what happens when you hire a guy who has only ever fielded soft teams.

The boys were playing loose and pissed, and it worked. He had to make sure they weren’t getting the other team’s Sunday best too dirty though

Not to trot out coach speak or trite sayings, but development is almost never a linear thing. DR has some things going on in his mental approach that aren't good. Add the fact that his OC refuses to help him by running the ball, and now ever DC in the conference knows to just blitz him and he can't handle it. The CU game seems like a long time ago.

It is coaching. You hire a .500 coach who is a slob. You will play like slobs. It really is not brain surgery. I am not really sure how people can't understand this.

What teams are doing against Riaola is not complicated at all. They’re just sending 5-6 guys on every passing down and trying to mix up where they’re coming from. The fact that Satt (and Rhule) can’t prepare Dylan and have a plan against the blitz is straight up disturbing. I don’t expect DR to be Peyton Manning against the blitz, but I expect to see some improvement. And I’d like to see something that resembles a purposeful strategy to combat the blitz. This isn’t the 1st game where the opposing defenses blitz packages confused and harassed DR.

Bill Belichick is a slob. Bill Parcells was a slob. Nick Saban is a midget.

Pretty sure they can all coach a bit.

There is something to that with regard to the coaching message out there. I listened to Rhule's press conference after the Ohio State game and I came away thinking that Rhule was a little to positive after losing a game. Blame Rhule if you wish, but this losing culture has been around long before him-- the team was way too proud after losing to Ohio State by only four. A team that thinks like that is capable of losing to anybody.

That was Nebraska's super bowl. They beat Colorado - that was the end of the season for this team.
The Colorado fans kept saying that crap and I laughed at it thinking this team was far better than CU being the Superbowl this year... Oh how I was F'n wrong.... and now us fans are regulated to just hoping we get to a ****** bowl game... Makes me want to Vomit

Reminds me a lot of the start 2AM had as a freshman. Didn’t he almost win at tOSU also. Anyway his first games as a freshman were the best and as he got more coaching from Harry Potter and a ransid offensive line his play devolved.

Dumb thread. Adds nothing to discussion.
Of course it does. We were up 28-0 but it could have easily been 14-7, we had a pick 6 and they dropped a pick 6 that became a TD. They beat us in the 2nd half once things settled down. This just shows that scoreboard and fan impressions of reality are generally wrong...luck, bounces, emotion can create momentary realities but in the end we were going to find out we had terrible coaches.
