Cool! Thanks Ben. My way too early take on her is a very skilled CG with Ustby like toughness. If I am anywhere near right, look out opponents.
Kate does not have AU like toughness. She got her toughness from her dad. The last time I checked he played and was a very good player in the ACC, and he also played in the NBA. Someone of you posters are going to overboard with that comparison. AU and Kate do not even play the same position. Please give her parents credit and not someone else who is not part of her family.
So I never said where she got her toughness from, maybe you should give Kate some credit. I said my early assessment was AU “like” toughness. And yes I know who Matt is, I’ve been watching ACC basketball since the early. 60’s so just chill out and stop trying to tell everyone else how to think. Something you’ve done before

This has to be the most off centered post since the move to the board. Some Buzz Lightyear kinda ISH from infinity and beyond. What are you even talking about.
Take it from someone experienced with the old board, you just have to ignore this guy. You'll save yourself a ton of headache once the season starts.
Ok, enough on discussing posters instead of posts. Keep it cordial. Keep it on topic.
That Harpring vid was really fun. Some thoughts:
- Her ability to finish through contact is really advanced for her age. And you saw her practicing with her dad with a blocking pad early in the vid.
- My favorite moment is when the defender was giving her a strong armbar on the OOB play and she immediately pushed against it above the elbow to clear the player for an easy pass and layup attempt. That is some smart basketball.
- Her coach gives her wide latitude to captain this team in the huddle, I presume as a HS junior here. And she uses it well.
- She dealt with some repetitive fouling by sticking to her game and keeping a good headspace. Impressive.
- She heads their high press on defense; clearly in great shape.
If you are seeing her play in person please give us some reports from time to time.
Yeah, I agree with you totally. That picture with Emily and Bjorg was a very good one. I just hoped that we can land at least one of them. To be honest, I would love to have both of them. I know this is being greedy and wishful thinking. One thing that I do know, if it were me, and I played with her during AAU ball or team USA, I would be coming to UNC.
