Are we headed for mediocrity ? Or will this 3rd year coach right the ship ? Is there anybody at Crest that can coach offense ? Who will be QB? Will Rulz yell at the refs ? Will Marty be in the same seat? Will the sun still be in my eyes early ? Is it too early to talk smack with seadog? So many questions. i'm gettin antsy.

And, don’t sleep on Caleb Borders this season. Like his older brother, Jayden, he’s a freakish athlete. He’s smaller, though. Young man has very good character about him, too. I know him personally. He joined the team late last year, because his initial plan was to just play basketball. They played him at db, but he’s such an athlete, I would expect to see him at receiver and definitely in the return game, too. He will be a breakout star in the county, he’s just a rising junior.

Hey ShelbyLion didn't Crest beat you guys last year 27-7? Coach must be doing something right. Oh let me guess that's when you guys weren't very good. But the truth be told that was before you started playing lesser competition. Congrats on your JV I mean 2AA championship.

Ask SP about 2AA. I believe the last year they were in little 3a they won it all. You need to worry about getting to the third rd.

Talk to me when you guys have to play real teams like Hunter Huss and Charlotte Catholic. No offense to all the North/west/south central Lincoln county schools you have to play. Ashe county also didn't mean to leave them out. Truth is you came to Crest and got throat punched. I was there didn't even fight back. Not a Crest fan just my thoughts. I don't have to ask SP anything my friend. Good luck this season to all Cleveland county teams.

Charger Backer1 I'm sure you are clueless like most. Your coach coordinated the Offense at Richmond where they averaged over 40 points in big boy football 4AA. And then ran the offense at his old school and broke all kind of scoring records. Maybe the personnel hasn't been what he is use to but I promise the guy can coach he will figure it out. Every QB he has had since 2006 has played big time college ball. Not sure where the guy he had from crest is going. I did hear he has 24 of 26 seniors from last years team going to college with 14 going to play ball. Again not bad for any program. How many did Shelby sign to go to school? Just wondering?

Dubman you left out KM who I believe made it further in little 3a than Hunter Huss.As for the Lions last year we were really bad at the beginning and the coaches and players did a lot of soul searching and figured some things out and just got better game after game.As for the playoff competition Hibriten without a doubt was the best team we played all year.

Kings Mountain was much better than Shelby last year turnovers killed them in your game along with the fact they don't believe they can beat Shelby. Crest destroyed hibriten in the scrimmage at their place. Luck of the draw in the playoffs helps teams to advance in playoffs at times. No kings mountain fan would say that kings mountain was better than Huss. That was proved on the field.

I apologize mr. dubman. I didn't realize when i made such a clueless post. That a man such as yourself. With your Britannica like knowledge of all things football. Especially offense.Would call out my shortcomings. You seem to be the only genius with the opinion that our offense was just fine. The play calling was great. The results acceptable. But, what do most clueless Crest fans know about good football. Please feel free to spew us with more .

Charger backer1No one said it was great. You should read the post a little more careful. Personel and ability of that personel dictate how all coaches call games. Who would know the kids ability better than the coaches. But I'm sure you know that. Your name suggests you back the chargers not throw shots every chance. Of course I may be confusing you with another Crest fan. But hey do what you feel.

They lost a lot of experienced talent from last year's group so expectations should be lower. Offense just hasn't taken off so far with new coach. They also bungled some things with time management that I hope they can fix this coming season. Seemed like they had a pretty promising group coming through middle school and in JV but can never be certain how they will look on varsity.

That middle school group that had Randall Lee May never see him on the field because what he is doing off the field!! Sad sad

Hey Dumbman44 I didn't realize you were such an expert. I am wondering how much better Kings Mt was than Shelby. You saying that isn't any different than us Shelby folks saying were weren't playing good at that point in the season when Crest beat us. Now fire back and show me your wisdom.

No expert just offering my opinion. That is what this message board is for opinions that no one cares about. You Crest and Shelby fans are easy to get going. Very sensitive I would expect thicker skin. Pow Pow.

I agree with Mr Absent Minded here. Crest identity is now a round 2 or 3 playoff exit.

Crest is an average team with super athletes. There only hope is to get enough enrolled to be 3AA and try to upset Weddington

Have to agree with Chopper and Wham at this point. Crest will have a big learning curve first half of season but once those young kids get used to the speed of the varsity game they should be pretty competitive and able to go 2-3 rounds, maybe more.

Didn't realize both Ruff and Borders came over to Crest. They have a chance to really shine on a larger stage at Crest. Coach Eddins proved he works for the kids helping get them into college football programs.

Lol. The red raider side of Belmont is the most inbred place on Earth. Those people's eyes are so close together they look like cyclops. When Hunter huss beat them there were some sad webb footed people.

These Charger boys are in for a rough season, lots of hard lessons and hard losses will be earned and learned. I read someone mentioned the offense is in the process of changing which I think is a good move on the coaches part if it’s true. Crest will eventually find its way to the winner circle again before long, just might take a year or two. These boys will be fine as long as they stick together and don’t jump what might appear as a sinking ship.

And, Crest is young this year! Has there ever been a veteran team in Cleveland County? Every school is guilty. Death, taxes and a young Shelby or Crest football team. Geez!!!

Every year Crest is young is what we hear out of that part of Cleveland County. As far as the offense, you might finally have a QB that can run what your coach likes. The Ruff kid can run it, very quick, not sure how well he throws it. I never really saw him play QB but a few plays last year for Shelby.

Lol.Somebody help me here, which is better being from Gastonia or Belmont?

I was kind of hard on old whammy boy, but believe me, you’d rather spend a month in jail ( in Belmont) than drive through Gastonia.
