Sheets wins.

Joe loses 4-2 to the #1 seed who has beaten Rogers. Each had 1 TD but Ashworth got the escape to start the 2nd and Joe chose neutral in 3rd. He was close a reversal at the end.

He will face a make or break match next.

joe is what he is.....not like he's a title contender at 165 or 174. He's a top 8 guy at best.

Yea in reality we have 3 top 8/R12 guys at 65 and 74. One had to unfortunately miss out. Hope the other two can AA.

like i said enough

1. it doesn’t change the fact it’s the consolation semi finals of a garbage
big 12 tourney

Ok.... what's your point. He need to win to make nationals and then has two weeks to get his head right and I'd imagine will wreslte better there. Who knows.

This will also be a good learning experience regarding cutting and being comfortable at the weight. Hopefully he can take two weeks to really dial in - he was notably better in the evening yesterday.

Agreed. Although I can't ignore the 24 hours he had leading up to this tournament. Not how you would want to prepare mentally or in the process of your weight cut.

165 is one of the better weights in the Big 12 and far from garbage. Three or four all-Americans could come from the Big 12.

with your history on this matter
gotta call bs

History? Come on man... I'm confused. I don't know either personally. Both are very talented yet inconsistent wrestlers. AA at this weight is going to be tough with either.

You had two healthy wreslter for one weight and the staff did what is done in rooms at all levels all across the country.

4 wrestlers ranked from 9 to 18

if there’s 4 AA’s i kneel and kiss your ring

3 or less you can be honest with yourself and this board

Ashworth and Romero are top 10 guys so they are right there. Steiert is a tough vet who could AA (his rpi is no. 7). I wouldn’t pick Smith as of right now but he definitely has the talent.

Will three or four of them AA? Chances are no but they all have the potential. It is far from a garbage weight.

You got me buddy! You uncovered the agenda. Glad you came in to save the day. Don't be a dumb dumb here... Let's just debate the subject.

If you are keeping score I think Rogers would have placed higher here at the big 12's considering the circumstances. I don't think that's the case in 2 weeks but both would/will have an uphill climb to AA.

I don't know you well enough to call you an idiot, *****, or just a dumbass so you got me.

I'm sure Chandler is happy some anonymous internet tough guy is white nighting a wrestling update thread defending his honor that isn't in question.

Not sure what is out of bounds about comparing them against common opponents. It’s only natural.

It was pointed out that Chandler beat Romero who beat Joe. No biggie and completely fair to point out. No one freaked out.

I don't know what we would do on here without you.

Setting at the arena I noticed that, if you go by past credentials (AA's), the top four wrestlers in the BIg 12 are/where, Seth Gross (out), Brock Kaid (#5 seed but in the finals), Joe Smith (#5 seed, finished fifth) and Chandler Rogers (out). Kind of a crazy year. I could have missed someone.

Are you at the tournament? This is the third or fourth one since adding the other schools and the new conference is improving some of the schools. It’s not the big 10 but I’m very impressed with uni, Fresno, and Utah Valley. Iowa State is much improved and uo has a couple of nice wrestlers. The wrestling is much better today than 3 years ago.
