2017 RB Prospect Michael Silva from Milton, Ma attended the June 5th Northwestern Camp and performed very well. He ran a 4.45 = 40, 4.01= shuttle and a 10 foot broad jump. Top score of the camp. Has offers from Navy, Army, and a bunch of IVY League High interest. RB Coach told took a higher interest after camping. They will let him know very soon about a offer or not from them...

Thanks for the update. What kind of player is he and does he project to any other positions? Keep the updates coming.

What was his measured height/weight? Is he wearing a knee brace?

EDIT: Answered my own question about track times. A little surprised at a 4.45 40 based on a 11.34 100, but a result is a result.

Whuuhh???

I love these short, compact backs that have power and burst. Auston Anderson has not done much yet, but I still love his skillset in the backfield. Koback is another. I hope he flips. This kid looks like a fine prospect.

Wouldn't that indicate that he was quick getting to top speed but that that top speed was more limited as in caught from behind? Would there be a difference between hand or electronically timed?

What exactly is the shuttle time from? A 4.01 second 20-yard shuttle would be unworldly.

NU's camps usually run the same 5-10-5 short shuttle that you see a lot of places. While I'm not entirely sure whether they have it electronically or hand-timed, a 4.01 SS isn't "otherworldly," but about what you would expect/want to see out of a RB who goes 5-10 180.

Still just don't see that kind of quicks on the kid's junior tape and based on the 11.34 100 (plus he remains very undersized for a BCS/P5 RB), but hope he proves everyone wrong and blows up early in his senior year to collect all the BCS/P5 offers he wants.

I watched the tape again. He looks tiny, but he's pretty stocky for a 17 year old. The question is whether he can grow some more and add power while gaining some more explosiveness. He shows a bit of burst on tape, but it's not sudden, change of direction-type stuff. Any offer, it seems, would be based on projected some physical changes and increased athleticism.

Pssttt... I think that's his coach on here, so you may want error on the being positive side... you know in case Fitz and McCall and MacPhearson do see those kind of quicks.
