The bottom of the league is pretty fluid. In order for us to stay out of the bottom 3, and miss the BE tournament, we have to win the USC and Minn. games. Ironically, I would usually be a lot more confident of this since they are pretty much as bad as us (currently both are 6-9) but we have that extra loss which puts us below them in the standings. Both are home games. Remember when we were pretty much golden at home???? Anyway, although we have been pretty decent on the road, I don't see us taking down either Mich. or Purdue.
So, we have our own destiny in our hands by having the opportunity to take out two of our nearest competitors still on our schedule. The last 2 spots appear to be pretty solid with PSU and Wash. with only 4 wins. Looking at the remaining schedules for USC and Minn., I would say USC only has one good chance of a win against Wash. with Minn. looking at two with PSU and NW.

If this team blows this, it would put the finishing touches on one of the programs worst ever seasons. Hard to believe with how this all started.

I would hope to God we miss the BE (CYO) tournament. B1G is where we belong even if our record doesn't show it...😉

1-3 is very likely enough. Hell, 0-4 might be enough. See the "realistic goals" thread.

Of all the surprisingly bad statistics this year, it is amazing how poorly this team has played at the RAC. We have as many conference wins on the road as we do at home. need to turn that around at home for the final two games.

Don’t need both. Need to win 1 more game realistically. We have tiebreakers over NW, Washington, and would have one over Minny or USC whichever we won
Unless, of course, we beat Michigan, and lose the rest. Not likely but this team is skrewy.

You missed the Craig Littlepage years?

The Littlepage and Jordan years were obviously worse record-wise but there were zero expectations in the those years. This is worse, IMO.

We had several people predicting Sweet 16, which was unrealistic. However, to probably not even finish .500 with 6 cupcakes on the schedule and 2 NBA lottery picks (granted we had some injury and illness time with Dylan), is something no one had on their bingo card.

If we played a lick of defense we would be a Sweet 16 team.

How did Littlepage make his way into this conversation ☺️ Can't argue with -one of the worst seasons- stuff; but come on; can't compare that morgue that Littlepage created (& sorry - still cannot say bad things about EJ) - versus full RAC; even if it has been both frustrating & discouraging.
