Damn. I dunno why I read that initial message as them moving, not closing.

Well ****. That's unfortunate. I know the opinion was mixed, but I really enjoyed their wings. Didnt even realize there had been a remodel.

But again with the exception of a spring game here and there, I haven't been to town for a game since Miami. Guess I'm a little out of the loop.

Google shows an active location for them at

1550 South Coddington, Lincoln, NE 68522

- this just a new restaurant that swooped in to piggy back off the name?
It was there as far back as at least 2005. It’s a seperate location. There’s also been one on 84th and Holdrege for years. If you are ever in town and looking for a legit sports bar… check out liquid assets down here off south 27th. Best viewing experience in town (they have literally any sport on that exists, and if they don’t know about it they will get it). Plus the food is BY FAR the best bar food you will have ever had. The chef is a former head chef at many country clubs and was also at some of the better upscale restaurants in town. Get the wings, skewers, and definitely try the homemade chips. They have great burgers and sandwiches as well. Their salads are on point (go for the grilled peach salad. It has arugula and prosciutto, I get mine with their shrimp as a topping). Seriously the best salad I’ve ever had, even considering those fancy salad places that are popping up (there’s one on Dodge close to where the Children’s Hospital is)

Pretty spur of the moment. Wife and I just decided to book a flight out to catch our first game. Were not from Nebraaka. Im a life long fan but ive only been to away games. So we really have no idea what to do or what to plan for. We're staying a few miles from the stadium and will be in town friday afternoon till sunday.

Looking for some advice on food for friday night and we want to hit up some local bars before the game and probably get some food. Anything else advice wise is appreciated.
Ok. I’ll help you out a bit. Pre-game uber at least 4 hours before…..or even earlier to haymarket. Definitely hit the rooftop at Barry’s. Check out canopy street. I’d head to embassy dock around noon and see if band has started. Leave there by 12:30 and head towards tailgates. You can literally offer to “tip” for a beer and join almost any tailgate. We are located right behind the parking garage across from the stadium. More than welcome to come to ours.

after the game it all depends on how much you want to continue. As one poster stated. You are literally one mile from the stadium. You could walk it

Ok thanks guys. Any idea for a good steak place on friday. Reasonably close.
If you want traditional, go to Misty’s in Havlock. You have to go to the havlock one specifically. It’s 7-10 minutes. It is a true Husker steakhouse. Food is usually pretty good but somewhat overpriced. The husker band usually comes through there. I can’t remember if they take reservations on Friday nights before the game.

Embassy is pretty fun.

Other advice:

Make sure the old lady gets wasted, but not like passed out or out of control.

It’s not an easy line to walk when you start drinking that early.
