We know adms are up in the air , but seeing all the teams so far who’s legit
Word is Murphy is very strong not sure of their best wins
Robbinsville is said to be loaded
Mitchell with a strong win over heritage
If Mitchell falls 1aa could it be the year

Tarboro is just tarboro a team will have to be very balanced to contend imo, not heard a lot down East at all haven’t heard about Holmes this year

Northwest same ole same ole its Mount Airy and East Surry
Been hearing good things for the bears not sure they are quite there for another year or so but really ma has been solid for a long stretch
East Surry lost a lot of speed at receiver and one heck of an arm at qb but have to say saw them play a lot so far Reidsville was yes a beat but who hangs with the rams 1 2pr possibly 3a this season cards played very good d In final half of that game, East has a lot of talent still there and when u get the chance to watch baker and Whitt on that line watch out those kids are studs a lot of talk around and I gotta show up , but we could see a Mitchell East tarboro showdown again

Rumor has it Tarboro will be small 1a this year. I hope that's not true but it would make the 1a state championship game interesting
I’ll say this u know tarboro is gonna keep reloading but graduating their qb from last season hurts somewhat he was very fast I’m sure they’ll replace him

You better have a balanced team to beat tarboro , I don’t think a run heavy team beats them, east surry picked up just enough yards running to keep tarboro honest last year

I was at the last two title games with East and tarboro and let me say much respect not only for your game but the kids respect for opponents too it definitely took a once in 20 year team at pilot to beat them,
Appreciate it man. Some of our players actually congratulated some of the east Surry players on their instagram pages. I know east graduated a lot from that team I think defensively they are pretty solid.

Who’s stronger this season between robbinsville and murphy
I know match ups are completely different and you really can't go by common opponents..Swain played both teams back to back. The defenses were not comparable. Robbinsville is completely lock down. There offenses were both good. We had much better luck stopping Murphy than we did Robbinsville. It was 38-0 against Robbinsville before we could blink. QB play for Robbinsville is nothing short of prime and they just keep rolling in fresh running backs play after play..also lineman are rotating in and out on both sides of the ball constantly. Maybe some more Swain fans will chime in but I'm going Robbinsville by a score or two

Are adms are 472 this year
Pretty big drop, of course if that's DPI numbers nchsaa makes some adjustments to the adms adding numbers from Early college etc but probably wouldn't make up that big of a difference. Some have said they're going by last season's numbers but I haven't seen any thing that states that. I know there's been a lot of remote learning this school year but they still have DPI numbers so I don't see any reason they can't use ADM numbers from this year.

Are the kids that are at home learning still counted? If not I could see dramatic changes in size of school with higher covid cases in their counties.
Seems last years numbers would be more accurate.

That is actually a good question. Some districts set up virtual academies while some districts made individual schools responsible for virtual students. So those kids would definitely count since the school was responsible for their attendance.

The ones that went into county ran virtual academies would be the question. Were these students still allowed to play sports? If so then those students would have to be counted in ADMs for their home school.

Honestly it would make more sense to go by 2019 adms. Because are we count all the ones who went to virtual learning?

I just read a couple of articles about it looks on average adm numbers are down 5%. Do to virtual learning.
From one article....
What does attendance mean this year?
Districts have varying methods of tracking attendance this year for online learners. The guidance document for this school year from DPI and the Board encourages districts to count remote students as present if a student completes daily assignments online or offline and/or “if a student has a daily check-in, a two-way communication, with the appropriate teacher(s).”
“In some districts, if a student logs in to do work, a teacher can see that they log on in their computer, and they’re counted present,”
So looks like it could be different in each district so I could see if they do why they would use last year's adm numbers

Before the beginning of the season I would have said Robbinsville, now I'm not so sure. Murphy's defense is better. Murphy is bigger. Robbinsville's offense is better. Gonna be a good game as usual.

I hope its next year b4 we have to deal with Tarboro.
From what i'm hearing the Vikings may be down from their usual for a couple of years after this year. We normally have 80 plus players between varsity and jv, this year its 50 plus. The jv team is 0-3 and has not looked very well. Our youth and middle school feeder programs have not fielded any teams. This may be the norm for a lot of schools across the state. I know Holmes player numbers are down and they did not field a jv team and neither did our rival 2AA Southwest Edgecombe. One of our conference teams has folded for the year from low player numbers and injuries.

Down from usual like miss the playoffs? And to be fair two of the losses by the JV team could have been wins. One was a triple overtime loss to northeastern, the other was a narrow loss to rosewood. I think a lot of middle school teams didn't play this year across the state. Lets also not forget next year 1a is not gonna have holmes anymore so Tarboro will be the odds on favorite to go to states til at least 2025.
