Found this on Youtube today. Aired a few years ago. Very good recap of the season with most of the players interviewed. With the recent passing of Phil Sellers this should be a mandatory watch for fans who weren't around at that time.
p.s. For our younger fans who think the RAC is a tough place to play, check the video clips from the old Barn.

The Barn was Pandemonium in New Brunswick for most of nearly 4 months! It will be very cool going back there tomorrow night for KnightFest. Only wish Phil could be with us for this season and next. GO RU!

Thanks for posting.

I don't recall a whole lot of the 1975-76 season other than Indiana went undefeated and won the national championship over another B1G team. Which, at the time, I thought it was weird that two teams from the same conference played in the national championship game.

Until I started visiting this board I had zero idea that Rutgers had ever made it to the Final Four.

And I think till last year or 2 years ago that was the last time 2 undefeated teams made it to the final four!!

Two years ago at the spring football game sat next to some students who had no idea Rutgers had ever made the final four.
Going way back it was impossible for two teams from the same conference to meet in the championship game, or any other NCAA Tournament game, as only the conference champ was invited to the tournie. 16 teams therefore only needed to win 4 games to be champ.
Damn Michigan.
I so wanted two undefeated teams to meet in the '76 final.

Rutgers College Class of 1976.

Then the following fall the football team had a great season and were being considered for various bowl games. There were many fewer bowl games back then. Atlanta Journal-Constitution opined that Rutgers should not be invited to Peach Bowl. They feared Rutgers fans would not fill the hotels and restaurants. Bowl games were created to get $$$ flowing into town.

Barn atmosphere was insane. Glad I was an engineering student so my access to tickets was a little easier. It got so loud at times paint chips would fall from the ceiling.
Yup, I remember reading about them sweeping up the paint chips.. I went to a late season game that year - definitely had temporary hearing loss.
