Can anyone breakdown the top recruits being targeted by Rutgers for 2018 and their current level of interest? I haven't followed it much.

Plus what are the key positions of need? It seems like both guard positions will be a need next year considering we lose Williams / Johnson after next season and the only true point will be the junior college transfer. RU will also need multiple power forwards considering Freeman will be gone too. Wing seems to be the only spot we have depth but I'm not sure the quality is where it needs to be.

Truthfully, you take everything at this point.....there is no position that you can comfortably say we are set at for recruiting for any seasons starting in 2018-2019.....I like the start of recruiting, but I think we are not looking at where we stand for 2018 just yet....there are players for 2017 potentially still there that can help, so we aren't solely reliant on 2018 freshman to bail us out.

The names of note are plentiful, but I don't know the level of interest with these players until the summer...best to just wait and see where we stand in the next month or two.

For 2017 we are currently filled, correct? Most people are assuming that 1,2 or 3 transfers happen which will open spots. Who is RU targeting for 2017?

Who are the names most likely to depart? Hopefully not the core (Sanders, Freeman, Johnson, Williams).

When it comes to recruiting there seems to be more silence then information with actual names of possible recruits for 2017,2018.

Hudson Catholic has 2-3 excellent jrs.

The 2 Ranney kids are legit.

I'm sure Rutgers is on them all.

Haven't seen him play but friends who did the other night told me a 6'5 kid from Shawnee can really shoot-----supposedly an outstanding pitcher too.

For the most part, Rutgers was getting better toward the end of their Big Schedule where they got four of their wins. Let not assume that they will be the same players next year, I expect everyone to improve and hopefully a handful that will be marketably better. There is no substitute for confidence, and they were a much more confident teams after winning a few Big games. I think seven conference wins next year is a realistic number.

We need our players to upgrade in court awareness. Better basketball IQ.

Stephen Antoine and Scottie Lewis are the Ranney kids. Ranney is a private school in Monmouth County.

Both 6'4 2 guard types-------excellent players and national recruits.

Top tier recruits have a affinity for Duke and Kentucky.Hard to compete against those schools and win.
