Post defense more than FTs....we scored more than enough points to win.
Both were the cause. You CANNOT shoot woefully from the charity stripe. You just can't. As for post defense, we couldn't stop him. Pike did the right thing and go to a zone, but he didn't trust it enough and when Benazhvili made a bunny, he switched back to man-to-man. Should have either stayed with the zone, or double team him and make someone else beat you.
Mental. A big part has always been a mental game for us. We definitely have the ability, but whether one of our player’s is in a slump or our free throw shooting. If we want to take it to the next level, a little fortitude would go a long way. People are too uptight, even for a close game like this. Smart, but relaxed is where we need to be.
The zone worked a few possessions. I liked the 3/4 press.. show man.. drop into zone - would’ve helped imo
This was one of our best shooting games all year. Harper hit that clutch 2 to force OT. We played pretty well considering the hostile environment.
We have 3 bigs and none of them played significant minutes despite the other teams big imposing his will every time down the floor.
Carter was particularly ineffective tonight...he missed so many bunnies and didnt take care of the ball.
Doorson was Doorson.
I feel bad for Myles... I thought he had a handful of good defensive stops but it seems to attract a lot of suspicious foul calls.
In general it is disappointing that we could not even slow down their freshman. Not saying stop him... just even slow him down...we couldn't even do that.
How many games have we been murdered by the 3?! I’m not mad at the game plan.. kid had a helluva game.. you would think a few maybe don’t drop or maybe get a charge or two.
missed one and ones are huge in a game like this. Bottom line RU was one short of everything today whether it was one free throw, one made shot, one rebound or one stop or one turnover...all factored in
I agree. We played pretty well for the most part. I didn’t want to single individual people out because I wouldn’t be surprised if they read these boards, but some people just play more uptight than others while others just play free. It’s not a knock on them cuz it shows they care. Just saying, gotta let the game come to you sometimes.
