It started last week with the firing of EJ. News was Rutgers fired head basketball Coach Eddie jordan and will leave the taxpayers footing a $2 million buyout.

Today the report was Rutgers will be interviewing Danny Hurley for the HC position with taxpayers paying for multi million dollar contracts' private jets for recruiting and practice facilities.

Will this radio station ever support Rutgers?

They are supporting the taxpayers of NJ.

What % of Rutgers University total budget is funded by the state?
How much is athletics in the hole? $20,000,000+

Donations needs to increase and revenue needs to get closer to costs....or costs need to get closer to revenue.

Think about what $2,000,000 can do for the current students of Rutgers. Better library, nicer dorm, etc.

I see both ends of this arguement.

They spew out misinformation and lies.
Iam a lawyer and treat ago on way home from work I was listenibg and they were ranting and raving about a criminal law and were so wrong-it was demogugry at the highest level. Ian sure they spread misinformation about every other profession as well. They are just bad people.

"Direct state appropriations and fringe benefit payments currently constitute just 21 percent of Rutgers’ $3.78 billion annual budget" - per the Rutgers budget facts website.

Last year's subsidy was $36M, $26M came from school funds while $10M came from student fees.

You can look at this a couple of ways.
1 - The state funds about 21% of that $26M, or about $5.5M. That's about $0.65 per person or $1.78 per household, per year.
2 - The athletic subsidy is about 0.7% of the overall Rutgers budget.

The state covers around 30% of RU's total budget (which is very low compared to most states). Athletics is less than 2% of Rutgers budget. It's the equivalent of complaining about where they buy their pencils.

When politicians make blanketed statements about decreasing deficits they are relying or hoping there are a lot of pencils. In the scheme of things in NJ RU basketball we are a very small pencil.....a broken off pencil point.

That station is, IMHO, good only if you need to know why traffic is tied up on the road you are or will be using. They do hate RU, but the sainted pro teams can and do get on pass on the State subsidy. Remember the silence when Sen. Cody gave the Giants $100. 000,000?

101.5 will gladly take RU's advertising dollars as I've heard a few commercials over the last week or two

Don't boycott the station just yet, by the looks of it, half the board will be dialing into the passion phones tonight to discuss the latest news on Hurley

Boy, having recently moved away from NJ, that dumpster fire of a radio station is one thing I don't miss. Lol at the passion phones.
