Creighton a 4
Nebraska a 10
Omaha a 16

Getting 3 in the tourney from Nebraska would be very cool

Nebraska ladies 9
Creighton ladies 7

Nebraska has three quad 1 wins.

Opportunity to get six more:
@ Maryland
Wisky
@Illinois
@NW
@OSU
@Mich

Tonight at Rutgers is one of those tweener games. Not fatal if you lose, but advances your cause a bit if you win. Losing starts to wear any remaining margin for error pretty thin.

That 2-3 record is a bunch of BS. Oregon St is dog **** and that was at a neutral site. Kansas St is their only true road win which is their only quality "road win." The road losses are worse such as losing by 11 to Minnesota after being up 17 points, 16 to Wisconsin and 18 to Iowa. Those were all horrible losses. And let's not forget that awesome display of losing by nearly 30 to Creighton, .

I am on record as saying this team appears to be better in several aspects compared to previous Hoiberg teams but if Nebraska gets blanked on the road in the Big 10, they will be lucky to make the NIT because I will bet money they won't win all of their remaining home games.
You seem fun....

horrible losses is a bit hyperbolic here.

KenPom has them in top 75.. so yeah it would be as a road win. Road wins are very valuable. Now they could fall out of top 75, but I wrote this up based on current data

Sure, road wins are quad 1 if the team is 1-75, so at this time it would qualify. I’m just doubtful that at the end of the season a win at Michigan would be a quad 1 win

Maybe.. my criteria is based off current data, not speculative ..

it's called being realistic. Why are so many of you guys slumming on the free board? Not enough good topics over there?
Post/Like ratio checks out. I'll put it this way. When you post and the entire thread turns against you, its you. You can dig your heels in and try to fight it but you are in "message board quicksand". The harder you try to justify yourself the further you get to your head going under.

I get being a skeptic of Nebraska basketball. That's the safe, wise and all-knowing position to take if you just want to be right. But here's the thing, there are objective reasons to believe that this team is slightly different than what we've seen for most of our lives. There's also every rational reason to expect ups and downs. At this point in the season NO ONE should be saying "we're great, we're going to win this many games" and NO ONE should be saying "well, we got killed vs ____ so we suck as usual and we're done." Both positions are hyperbolic and silly. I'm trying to enjoy having something to watch this winter and very much hoping that we can squeak into March Madness because it would be FUN.

I really, really suspect some of you just hate fun and you just can't let yourself relax and enjoy the ups and downs of a program that has no reason to expect success but every reason to hope there are a few more big wins in store this season.

Nebraska is not a tournament team.

Nebraska fans havent got a clue what a tournament team looks like, so when we see an NIT team we go bonkers.

“But there is still a path” yeah thats true of 100 other teams, and at least 70 of them will have better resumes than a team that loses every single road game to piddling teams.

Geeze man. Nebraska beat the **** outta the best team in the country so give it a rest. Yeah they must win another road game or two, but quit sh!tting on everyone

9 seed.

I know Im a downer but I would be really surprised if they win any of the next 4.
Winning two of the next 4 will make the magic number 20. They go 0fer in the next 4 they will have to hit 22 IMO. Probably winning all 7 remaining games... 6 and one in the Big 10 Tournament... 5 and 2 in the Big 10 Tournament

The good news is we get Michigan twice, so that gets us to 17 right there. I also think we will beat Minny, Rutgers and PSU at home. From there just need to take a couple on the road. The schedule isn't too daunting as we've already beaten a few of the teams. I just hope Fred and the team can figure it out on the road. GBR

There are times watching this team when I think they will not only make the NCAA Tournament, but win a game or two. They look as good as any team we’ve seen since the early 90’s. Then things like Rutgers (or Minnesota) happen, and I am reminded that this is still NU hoops.

I’m currently optimistic that they will find a way to get to 11-9 or 12-8 in the league, and will use the B1G Tournament to improve seeding. I also reserve the right to become miserably pessimistic.

BTN had some kind of stat last night that showed the lowest winning percentage on the road for the Top 10 teams in many, many years. I didn't catch the exact winning percentage and dates, but it sure shows how difficult it is to win on the road regardless of how good a team is. I have maintained needing to win all home games, or maybe 1 home loss since B1G play started and we have a decent chance of getting in.

Today's Bracketology has us as a 9-seed
If we win 2 of the next 4 (We will be favored in 0 of them) we will need to win 3 of the last 7 and we probably get in.

If we one of them... we will need to win 5 of the last 7

If we win 0... we will have to sweep the remaining game or come up with 7 wins with the Big 10 tournament.

Win the next two @Maryland and Home against Wisconsin... we will be a 5 or 6 seed in most Brackets. Just would have to look average the rest of the way and we'd be at worst a 9 seed

We just need to take care of business at home and we will be in. If we lose to Wisconsin at home, we will need to win one on the road, or win a couple in the Big Ten tourney. We should be able to beat Michigan on the road.
