Has anyone else read the book? I’m finishing it today. Started yesterday morning.
It is a novel reimagining Mark Twain’s “Advetures of Hucklebrry Finn” from the perspective of Jim the slave who escapes Hannibal, MO on a raft with Huck. The slave dialect takes a few chapters getting used to, but the book is a quick and interesting read.
“James” was written by Percival Everett and released in 2024. It won the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the 2024 National Book Award for Fiction.
