I was hoping he would play. I don’t want Iowa’s win to get discounted like it’s going to be if he doesn’t.
The Northwestern name will make it discounted regardless.......

Just like with Minnesota. The Gophers could go 9-3 and both Iowa would still get sh** on for losing (rightfully so tbf) and Indiana would get sh** on by that still not being considered a quality victory.........all because Mississippi State destroyed them in Week f***ing 2.

So let's not pretend these numb-nutted f***s were going to give us credit for this NW game regardless.

Not like Chiles, he has never thrown for more than 800 yds in a season either.
Means they'll just try to pick their spots to pass out of their formations more carefully.

That also means it's imperative we get "home field Iowa" who plays to get a lead from the start and build on it, to be the team we see the rest of the season regardless of where the f***ing game is being played, rather than the scared, conservative, "we're on the road against a tough opponent and have to play it safe says Kirk" Iowa team that played like nervous nellies as soon as they made one f***ing singular mistake, which then turns into 38 f***ing mistakes.................😃😃😃

In layman's speak....force them to throw on Iowa's terms.

pretty smart of nw to wait till now. parker and boyz have to be wondering if the week’s prep goes out the window. almost like a washington situation where the D had to go against the backup with no prep
The U Wash 2nd string qb was the starter most of the season at Stanford in '25 and was known as a very good passer which he was. Iowa was playing soft, maybe a bit too soft as I would like the opponent to take 2 or 3 downs each time to get a first down.

any thoughts on google ai’s verdict that defenses often struggle against left handed quarterbacks? it says reasons include—
Flipped Blind Side: A left-handed quarterback turns their back to the right side of the field during a dropback, making the right tackle the primary blind-side protector instead of the left tackle. Defenses must adjust where they line up their premier pass rushers, or exploit a right-side mismatch if a team hasn't heavily invested in a top right tackle. [1, 2]
    • Reversed Read Mechanics: Defenders—especially nickel cornerbacks and linebackers—rely on visual "tells" and keys from a quarterback's helmet and shoulders. Against a lefty, standard visual keys are mirrored or blocked from view as the quarterback opens up to the opposite side, causing slight hesitation. [1]
    • Unfamiliar Rollouts and Bootlegs: Edge defenders and defensive ends who are muscle-memory-trained to defend right-handed rollouts to their right can get caught out of position or misjudge angles on left-handed bootlegs and play-action movement. [1]
    • Preparation and Scout Team Hurdles: Most defenses face a left-handed quarterback rarely (or only once a season). Forcing scout teams and defensive coordinators to completely flip progression reads, route flows, and weekly practice looks in a few days creates a real mental hurdle, as detailed in The Athletic.
