Until Pope starts winning and putting together teams like Dan Hurley. I had some genius posters this offseason point out to me how they both sucked for a few years so Pope was going to take that same path soon and that’s why we should be happy he’s here. I’m just really excited for that to happen soon. I can feel it coming soon and it’s going to be beautiful.

I'm starting to wonder how many basketball fans this program is creating within the younger generation. Probably not many. Overall, college basketball is a mediocre product, yet this University just expects fans to keep showing up and spending money regardless of the product we put on the floor.
The younger generation will probably be football-only fans. The basketball program better improve or it’s doomed to be irrelevant.

Yeah, I was informed that Coach K was "booty" his first few years at Duke in the 80's and then he won 5 titles and 1100 games. Really excited for Pope to turn into that. 5 titles is gonna be amazing!

Just because Kentucky has been down doesn’t mean it’s a mediocre product. Last year had amazing talent and teams, this year will too.

The past 3 seasons have been the best college basketball ever. NIL era has made the game so much better and more entertaining to watch.

Go back and show any post where anyone on this board made one, even one post saying Pope was going to put together teams like Hurley. You can't do it

Talking out your rear

Hurley prior to UConn: 151-105(.590)
Mark Pope prior to UK: 187-108(.634)

Hurley 1st two seasons at UConn 35-29(.549)
Pope 1st two seasons at UK 46-26(.639)

So in truth, not only was Pope better before they took their current gigs, Pope was better in his first two seasons. In other words, half of BBN would have fired Hurley before he built a dynasty. FACT

Why keep crying about the first two years instead of looking forward to this season SMH? Dan Hurley was 35-29 in his first two seasons at UConn. 46-26 sounds pretty good compared to that, especially starting with no players and playing one of the toughest schedules in the country. Hurley went 38-18 in years three and four. In other words, you would have fired Hurley, say anything else and you're lying.

Exactly. Hurley was 73-47(.608) after four seasons. Pope is 46-26(.639) against a tougher schedule, starting from scratch, with injuries both seasons.

The same number of Elite Eights Dan Hurley had through two years at UConn. Now a question for you....In Hurleys entire career, how many S16s did he have through two years at UConn??? You firing him too? Now move those goalposts

Dan Hurley was in his 13th season as Head Coach and 5th as Head Coach at UConn before he made a S16 EVER. Pope was in his 10th season as HC and 1st season at UK when he made the S16.
The reason for the comparison is simple. I am not saying Pope will start winning titles. I am saying that you and the rest of the goal post movers around here would have fired Hurley if he had the exact same results here that he had in his first four years at UConn. 4 years at UK as HC without a S16? You're being hypocritical if you say otherwise

You would have fired Hurley

Show me one of those posts where I said Pope would start building teams like Hurley. Show it....you cant. I said they would have fired Hurley because his first two years were worse than Popes.

I still want to play that game with you. Go find the last 10 positive posts you have made about UK basketball. Ill post 100 negative whiny posts you made for those 10. Duke boy

College basketball needs to move its season to start in December and end in May.
Late-season college football greatly overshadows the college basketball tip-off.

This is the problem with Pope. He doesn’t bring excitement or national media news to UK. At least with Cal we was talk of the town with a new roster every year and stud freshman class coming in and all the NBA picks. The younger generations recognize that. UK is closer to becoming IU and UConn is coming closer to what UK was

You must be young and don't remember the early and mid 1980s. Ewing, Sampson, Dream, Clyde, David Robinson,MJ, Worthy, Isaiah, Mullin. Yeah it's so much better now 🙄
