Sydnor if he can get back to full health, I am thinking Francis, Jones, Smith, Sydnor and Gurdak for a starting five, gives us size. Then Lino first man off the bench to change the pace and bring energy, Buchanan also part of a second unit. This is at least a hopeful team and a season to look forward to.

Syndor is going to be needed in B1G play,

Would like to see Smith/Buchanon be more physical underneath on both ends

I wouldnt go that far. Jury is still out on that. New Haven is really bad
It’s not elite depth but we are deep, bringing back 5 guys with B1G experience (Tariq, Lino, JMike, Powers, and Buchanan) and adding solid experience with Gurdak, Smith, Jones, and Sydnor which gets us to 9 deep. Then you add what looks like a decent young backup center in Miteo, and we will be competitive with those 10 guys (plus potentially Garavaglia as well).

Nice win but we learned nothing playing a garbage team. Remember how good Griffiths looked vs bad teams?

Happy we easily won but we won’t learn much until We face a really good Houston team.

Can we keep it close and threaten to win or are we blown out?

at this point I would say Houston is definitely a loss but a competitive game. Would be nice to see them step up and win two in Vegas after the Houston game. Certainly capable of beating Notre Dame in game two and then see who we get in game three

He and JMike are part of that 2nd unit you just criticized a minute ago. These two were better than the starters tonight. Hope we Jones starting soon.
Seems like Jones starting is inevitable, he offers more size, shooting, and defense…..it’s a no brainer. We need his size against bigger guards in the conference, Lino and Tariq together is just too small. Plus, I love Lino or Tariq, take your pick, as a spark plug off the bench. Maybe Jones will be seen as the spark plug off the bench, but he needs more minutes so I assume he’ll get more minutes if he starts.

Yup, been saying the same for a while. Lino off the bench as a change of pace merchant.

I wonder if we’ll see Riq off the bench a bit like last year.

I was just going to ask if anyone could tell if he was dressed

someone asked earlier so just responded rather than find the original (might have been you) - I didn’t see it until the 2nd half, but looked like his left fingers were taped together.

I don’t begrudge Paul at all. He gave us four years. Don’t think he was meant to be the face of the program - and I think the year took a toll on him. Im sure he was content getting a bag and being anonymous with his gift year.
I agree. Many of us went to grad school elsewhere. He’s one of us.

didn't have to wait until mid summer to announce it though. That really hurt us.
