OT: JMU ate as a team at Columbia's downtown location last night. They are a meat-eating club, primarily ... !!
Yes, JMU is so good they already lost their first game to Miami of Ohio.
They are still struggling to adjust to the loss of their second-leading scorer (15.3) from last year, Justin McBride.

Yes, more minutia for those two ... it's the small things that can make a big difference in a ballclub.
39% FG
56% FT
39-44 deficit on REB Margin
12 TO
86-77 Loss to the deadly RedHawks
Not worried!
Miami was 32-2 last season (18-0 in the MAC) ... not sure how many key players have returned, but they were an excellent club in 2025-26.
They are the pre-season favorite, overwhelmingly, to win the MAC again this season ... fwiw.

They lost by 9 after shooting the 3 well. We will blow them out
Hope this is a joke.
They do sound like they shoot the 3 a lot better than Manhattan.
The mob was coming for u man so figured id ask. Lol
my first home game in 25+ years! cant wait.
UK has lost every game i have attended in the past 6 years(about 1 a year). i'm finally attending a home game to try and break that streak. if not....i am def cursed.
UK favored by 25.5 points. Pope's teams don't have a great track record covering this type of game, though. Already 0-1 ATS this year, too. ($)
Need to get of to a fast start. If we play the 1st 5 minutes against Kansas the way we did Manhattan we'll be down 20-2.
The Kansas game is going to tell us a lot. If we get down double digits yet again n a game against a legit opponent then that is concerning. Hopefully Pope has figured out how to have his team ready at tipoff consistently though.
I wouldn't expect that this game will cover the prediction of points of a win. If so then Pope isn't testing still on configurations or giving some on the bench more of a chance. It will be a win but give everyone in certain combinations and substitution patters a chance.
One thing Pope is good at is beating cupcakes. It’s when we start playing P4 games when things get complicated.
I’m always weary of a good 3-point shooting team, but am hopeful our length bothers JMU.
I would love to see a fast start, but am expecting to be tied of behind for most of the first 10 minutes of the game like usual.

It
It is a mixed bag at P4. He has had some incredible ranked wins and then too many baffling losses
If Mark starts out the season with a home loss then hes lighting his own fires. We all want him to do good here and this season will tell alot. Im going to work so maybe catch the replay here around midnight. Go Cats!!
