18-0? Geez, what a way to start the season.

This could be a game where Francis and Smith really light it up. I don't love that New Haven has a game under their belt and we don't, but we've played some scrimmages. We shouldn't be too rusty.

RU cruises but NH narrows the gap in garbage time. Final score 77-64.

Are you saying that after starting cold, they outscored Syracuse 58-56? Any concern that Rutgers has opening night jitters while they come in with a game behind them and then take a 10-0 that they go toe to toe with Rutgers, there could be a huge upset?

New Haven 65, Rutgers 64.

Personally, I would like to see Rutgers have a season that would be more incredible than the movie Hoosiers or the dramatic turnaround of the Chiefs after they added the Hanson brothers in the movie Slap Shot. I think it could happen. However, given how the football team is doing, I think it is only fair to ask, has Rutgers offended the Greek Goddess of Victory, known as Nike? Are Rutgers sports cursed?

Next year will be my 50th year attending Rutgers games. I remember watching James Bailey play like it was yesterday. I remember Roy Hinson, the bad years, which there were many were completely forgettable so I’ve forgotten them.
Same here! So many great memories.

I could see a similar outcome as Syracuse had against New Haven, though the Orange probably got a little complacent after going up by 28 at one point.

We can turn them over and out-rebound them, and they’ll likely put us at the FT line a lot. Assuming we hit a decent percentage of shots, we should run away with it. Look for Lino and Gurdak to excel.

RU wins, 81-59.
