The Eagles will be at home when the playoffs begin Friday night. And now they'll be competing against teams their size. After playing in a conference where every game was against bigger schools. The Eagles were very competitive this season, but could only muster one conference win, and that was against winless Goldsboro. The Eagles were defeated last week 52-28 by rival Princeton. Now they'll face a Hurricanes team that has only three wins to match them. The Hurricanes are coming off of an 47-8 loss to East Carteret last week. The Eagles will need to mix it up on offense, and force the Hurricanes to put the ball in the air. The Hurricanes hasn't been very competitive in their losses. Look for the Eagles to dominate and move on and set up a date with number one seed Tarboro. PC 8 R 38
(24)TRINITY BULLDOGS 1-9 0-5 @ (9)WALLACE ROSE HILL BULLDOGS 5-4 3-2
We get a battle of the Bulldogs in the first round of the 3a East playoffs, and one set of these dogs
will be looking to get a bad taste out of their mouths. The Trinity Bulldogs hasn't won a game since mid September, and they have only scored two touchdowns during this stretch. They comes into this game after getting smashed by Wheatmore 46-0 last week. Wallace Rose Hill Bulldogs comes in after another close game lost, and this time it was to my Tigers 
13-10. So expect for Wallace to come out and show Trinity that they're in the real Dog Pound . Wallace gets this one over quickly, and plan their trip to Elizabeth City to take on Pasquotank County. T 0 WRH 56

Both of these teams finished the regular season on an high note, the Bulldogs ran through Rosewood 52-28, and the Patriots made easy work of Heide Trask 58-14. This is a very interesting match up, cause both of these teams like to run the ball. And they both can score points, the Patriots has scored over 50 points in all of their wins, while the Bulldogs are one of the top scoring teams in 3a. The Patriots started the season off strong then they lost five in a row, where they had to overcome some injuries, but seems to be back on track. The Bulldogs has faced tougher competition, but it won't matter in this match up. It's win or go home, and the Bulldogs will be in the comfort of their home field. So expect a shootout with the Bulldogs holding on and advancing to the 2nd round. Pe 55 Pr 56

The Rams will be looking to take some frustrations out on the Guardians because tthey're not hosting this playoff game. The Guardians will be out to prove that they deserve this home game, and will be trying to defend their home field. Both teams were victorious last week, the Rams had no problem downing Wilson Beddingfield 49-0, and the Guardians fought hard for a 22-21 victory over Louisburg. I believe that the Rams are more battle tested than the Guardians, and they'll have too much fire 
power for them. Look for the Rams to roll into the 2nd round for a match up against #1 seed Northeastern. GC 42 WPA 13
(20)AYDEN-GRIFTON CHARGERS 2-8 1-4 @ (13)LOUISBURG WARRIORS 7-3 3-2
This has been a difficult season for these Chargers, and they come into this playoff game having lost their last three games, including a 36-7 loss last week to Farmville Central. But these Chargers are tough, and they won't go down easily. So the Warriors better not look at their record and think that they have a free trip to Warsaw. The Warriors are a seven win team, and they have been in some tough games themselves, including a 22-21 loss last week to Wake Prep Academy. So they know that they will have to come to play when these Chargers get to town. I expect this to be one of the best match ups of the first round, and I'm leaning towards the Warriors pulling out a close one at home. AG 17 L 24
(23)HEIDE TRASK TITANS 2-8 1-4 @ (10)FARMVILLE CENTRAL JAGUARS 6-4 4-1
These Jaguars are on a roll right now, heading into the playoffs. They dismissed rival Ayden-Grifton 36-7 last week. Now they'll turn their attention on defending home field when they face the Titans. The Titans are struggling to score points, and play competitive right now, having lost four straight including a 58-14 defeat to Pender last week. I don't expect the high power offense of the Jaguars to slow down any in this match up. Look for the Jaguars to put their foot on the gas, and end the Titans season. HT 0 FC 61
(18)KINSTON VIKINGS 5-5 2-3 @ (15)NORTHWOOD CHARGERS 5-5 3-1
The defending Eastern 3a champions start their mission to defend their crown, but this isn't no where near the Vikings team that marched through the East in the playoffs last year, on their way to play for the state championship. Nah, these Vikings are not them, but they have shown signs of growth throughout this season. And they are still dangerous, we thought that they had turned a corner earlier in the season, when they put up the most points on a Wallace Rose Hill team that has one of the top scoring defenses in 3a. And that performance led to the Vikings winning four straight, and they were clicking on all cylinders. Since, they have lost three of their last four, including a 48-12 loss to Tarboro last week. Now they'll face a Chargers team that was headed in the opposite direction, having won three straight, before they stepped out of conference and lost a heartbreaker 16-13 on the road against West Carteret last week. The Chargers offense was clicking during their winning streak, but it didn't show up Friday. This has the making to be a classic battle between these two, but which Vikings team will show up? Will they have the heart of a champion, and walk into Pittsboro and put fear in the Chargers. Which Chargers teams will show up? Will the team that defeated Southwestern Randolph a few weeks ago show up, and let the Vikings know that this isn't last season? I think the Vikings offense will show up and create more problems for the Chargers defense can handle. K 28 N 20

We have come to the end of 2026 regular season, and we're heading into the playoffs. The finale last week between my Tigers and Wallace Rose Hill gave us another classic defensive battle. I'm glad that my Tigers were able to get out of the Dog Pound with the victory. Those Dogs are tough, and I think they'll be a force in the playoffs. My Tigers and Midway will enjoy this bye week, while Princeton, Wallace, and Rosewood will be in action this week. Goldsboro season is over, and I hope that they'll have a great off season and be competitive next year. Good luck to all of the SVC teams in action this week.
