They said same as last week also. It’s bad but without Duff, not shocking and we didn’t throw very much either
The sad part of that comment is that they have 10 WRs in that room. A few who were 4*s and the two dynamic freshman and still no one can do anything without Duff

Rutgers at least looked like a Big 10 team today. However without Duff and Lonnegan not much chance
Agree. If you watched this game in isolation, there isn’t much to complain about.

But otherwise, it’s yet another ‘almost’, while showing some patterns that hint at being out coached second half and too slow to adjust.

No explosive athletes on defense. It’s why they can’t stop mobile QBs and can’t sack the QB and don’t turn the ball over. Slow for a major conf team. They played close but it is what bad teams do, next they will probably get blown out by a Wisc team who got clobbered by Iowa today.

In fairness to the better WRs, they are mostly freshman and sophs. Players like Strong and Duff flashed in year 2 but were not dominant yet.

Sick of the excuses personally. Every team deals with injuries and it's arguably the coaching staff's fault Lonergan got injured again. They are every bit as bad as their record suggests

The fact that we can't complete a single pass in an entire half of football as members of the B1G is beyond egregious. It'd be one thing if we ran triple option, but we were ACTUALLY TRYING.
I'm still convinced SHI is built on some sacred burial ground. Something just doesn't add up and never has - coaching & talent deficiencies, aside.

13 passes isn’t trying very hard. Not sure what the split was between halves. And there were the 3 catchable balls that were all ‘dropped’. For argument’s sake, if they were all caught, it would have been 6-13. Surace also passed well enough to draw 3 DPIs. If this had been the NFL, that would’ve been huge yardage associated with those three penalties instead of just 45 yards.

So Indiana also didn’t catch a ball second half. Clearly, Surace is limited, no doubt. What I don’t understand is why going into a game where you probably game planned not to throw it very much that you wouldn’t come up with some more wrinkles in the running game?

Love Captain Kirks playcalling lets run all the routes 25 yds down field plenty of time you need to gain yards & move chains. How about you drag somebody underneath. His playcalling is trash....you need yds to be able to go for it on 4th down.....have no idea why when you are 2-5 playing for your coaching career with 3:20 left and you PUNT
Not one slant today. Even Teel said our passing calls were bad compared to Michigan using the short pass early to gain confidence.

Atrocious play calling

Was either a run or throw deep

No screen pass?
Quick out pattern?
Use tight ends?

get Surace some easier throws

Believe we win had DL and KD been healthy as Michigan is that bad

Greg says he prefers a small playbook and to execute it at a high level. Remember that coordinators have a boss.
And that small playbook will only win consistently in the B1G with much better talent

we won’t trick, outscheme, or confuse anybody so we better just have good enough talent t
