I know we are all losing faith in Pope, but we may as well let the season play out.
I think he is fine with play calls and analytics, we just lack intensitiy.
Maybe with Mo Williams on the sidelines he can help that.

We are going to be long, and have guys that can get a bucket whenever we need one. It is a team built more for march imo, not saying we will go far - but it is the simple truth.

I usually do not like anything Jimmy Dykes has to say. I think he is a blow hard with his violent cuts crap and all. But during Wednesday's game he pointed out last year that Michigan lost an exhibition game 100-98 last year to a team that missed making the NCAA tourney and Michigan ended up winning the Natty. What else has to be said about exhibition games.

Did the “the official Kentucky Men's Basketball social media account” originally say exhibitions didn’t count?
I'm saying, to all those people who said "exhibitions don't matter" our current staff/program doesn't agree. And for the program to be bragging about exhibitions games when Pope hasn't won anything is a pretty good indicator of where we are with this.

I agree with you but when the team doesn't play stellar in one of these games. The doomers and gloomers come out of the woodwork and I'll determined that the season is lost

Upsets happen all the time in college basketball beit exhibition or regular season games.

It doesn't make it meaningless.......it's just one game tho.

Exhibitions don’t matter unless there’s some moments when new guys look new.

If a bunch of new guys look new, freshmen look great, and you go 3-0…they don’t matter.

Are there really people that think what some people say on a message board is the end all be all?
I Can Feel It Eastbound And Down GIF

You just haven’t fully come to terms with the power this board bestows on you yet.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to either get too excited or disappointed in exhibitions. You never know what coaches are actually working on or trying to find out about their teams. It is nice that we won all 3. Maybe it’s a small positive since nobody else did, but take them for what they are. I saw a lot of positives as well as a few negatives with regard to our team. The length on the floor defensively is something to get excited about. The ceiling of this group seems to be quite high. We just need Diallo to get the spider webs out of his brain and just play, and he can. Quit thinking and just play. Once Kam comes back, we are going to have some very interesting lineups we can throw out there. When these guys start truly gelling, who’s gonna stop our offense?

Meanwhile, all those who are trashing the team, Pope, and everything else before we play a SINGLE game should just not watch and go play pickleball or something. Wallow in your misery alone. I know we’ve had some questionable effort at times (hopefully that gets fixed) but just remember that MP has done what COW couldn’t his last 5-6 years here, all the while being decimated with injury. I think we have some coaches and staff personnel added that will make this a formidable program sooner than later.

They don’t matter, but gives us an idea of the team. I don’t think this team is terrible but we’re also far from a top 10 team.

This. You cant put too much stock into the outcomes but its quite obvious we just don't have the pieces to make any noise.

None of the games looked like we had any sort of physical/talent superiority at all. That's why everyone is rightly concerned.
