Makes me think the Tennessee game will bear outsized importance to the national narrative. Win, and Kentucky will be touted as the real deal, possibly this season's Indiana. Lose, and the haters will claim that they never bought into the hype. Kentucky will fall more than it should, and have to claw its way back.

Sadly, the national media are just waiting for our next loss. I don't care. I think we can absorb a UT loss, if we sweep the remaining.

Depends on how some others do Saturday. We could vault near the very top of that list with some upsets …which is quite possible in this season of parity.

But I’d guess around 6th if no surprises this weekend.

I question whether or not the team is ranked in the top 12. By Kentucky standards this is a great season, but in reality, there is only 1 win against a ranked opponent and that was by 1 point in OT, at home.

Somebody posted a tweet in an other thread, but we have more top 30 wins than anyone in the ESPN power ratings. And if we don’t beat South Carolina or Oklahoma there is a very good chance that they are sneaking into the top 25, 2 very good road wins to go along with LSU.

South Carolina specifically has a chance to age very well, especially if they take care of Oklahoma this weekend they could go on a run to close out the season. That of course would hurt the Oklahoma win, but they have a tough schedule down the stretch anyway.

How the loss happens matters just as much as the outcome. If we lose a hard fault game on the road then yes we will drop but probably not a lot. If we aren’t competitive then that will warrant dropping more but either way KY can lose this game and still make the CFP by winning out. They will not be left out at 10-2.

Another hypothetical. If UK wins 3 of the next 4 and is 10-2, they should make the SEC Championship Game, no?

Does UK still make the playoff is they lose the SEC Championship game (and lose it badly for the sake of discussion) and finish 10-3?

If we finish 10 and 2 I prefer to not be n that game. It matters so little it is going away after this season.

History tells us we would still get n but we dont have the alabama brand so id prefer not to find out.

There's nothing outsize about whatever the TN result is. It's huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge.
