Next week against Vandy is the game that will decide Lebby's career.

If he cannot rally enough pieces of what a month ago was a decent team to beat a winless-in-conference Vanderbilt who has regressed to the norm, this is going to be like when Moorhead went to Knoxville in 2019 to face a two-win Tennessee team.

That team came out lazy and listless and got run by a bad Volunteer squad in front of a largely vacant Tennessee fanbase, and what little remaining support for Moorhead evaporated with it, only momentarily delayed by Elijah Moore's genius decision to go pretend to pee like a dog.

If MSU loses to Vanderbilt next week, Lebby will never get the fanbase back*.

(* - unless Deuce Alexander decides to go pretend to pee like a dog in the Egg Bowl inadvertently leading to an MSU win, which would of course again be a momentary respite)

and to get a gauge on where we are, a thread has been started, stating, that if this team can't beat Vandy, the coach has to go........ that's just not a good place to find ones self

And to be fair, if you get past that and taking for granted beating Tennessee Tech, that is technically improvement from last season.

Honestly, if winning or losing vs Vandy is the only reason to keep or fire Lebby, then I hope we lose for the betterment of the program in the long run. This is 2008 ole miss game all over again where losing is actually a win

I don’t know if it “define” his career, but if he loses I expect it will end up in his firing, which is probably what you mean. If he wins then ok he won a game he was supposed to win. Great. I still say, if we go into the EB with 6 wins and get embarrassed that he could still be shown the door.

As others have said, I think the ultimate test is what we do vs OM. We have a large portion of the fanbase that judge coaches on what they do vs OM.

If they skull drag us in NOV (which is likely), then he gone.
