There is a video circulating the internet which appears to show the East Davidson Soccer team engaging in hate speech. It has been confirmed that the student athletes in the video are on the team. This behavior is unacceptable and I’m hearing that ED will have to forfeit their match tomorrow against West Davidson. I’m sure more consequences will be on the way as a further investigation is conducted. They are currently the #2 seed in the 3A West and are tied with Thomasville in the CCC with a record 7-2 (soon to be 7-3 after the forfeit). This unfortunate event gives Thomasville the opportunity to outright win its first conference title in CCC on Monday. According to the school system East forfeited their game with West Davidson, costing them a shot at being conference co-champs. Tough lesson to learn, but holding kids accountable is more important than wins and trophies.
Apparently, emotions are still running high and is bleeding over into other sports.
It’s a shame that we’re even talking about this in 2026. And I hate that it’s dividing our community as both schools are in Thomasville.

Tville has already put a beat down on ED in football scoring at will with a running clock. I guess basketball will be the next opportunity to see how things are doing. Sad that a small group of students represent the school in such a manner that it looks terrible on the community and school. Those students should all be suspended to the max and miss the playoffs.
If you asked me if I was surprised it was said, my answer sadly would be no. What I am surprised is that it was posted to social media. I am not sure it was leaked before Thomasville played East last Friday night in football, if it was both teams should be commended on how they conducted themselves. However, my gut tells me it didn't become widespread knowledge till Saturday.
