I've been advocating for Heck since before the season began, but I come to admit I was wrong. Heck wasn't good today. Brown was a little better, at times, but missing the wide open TE over the middle late helped Iowa give this one away. Tradon Bessinger is supposed to be a real talent. He had better be the starter next season, and maybe he should get his feet wet soon. Neither Heck nor Hank is the answer . . . this season or in the future.Did heck get hurt? Brown sucks.
Nah, heck moved the ball better. Hank had one drive. Aside from that he was completely useless.I've been advocating for Heck since before the season began, but I come to admit I was wrong. OTOH, Indiana and Michigan don't have ONE decent QB between them, FWIW.
That throw to the TE was a stupid choice. He could only throw it to where his receiver could get it and unfortunately it was a TE and he couldn't bridge the gap to the ball in time.I've been advocating for Heck since before the season began, but I come to admit I was wrong. Heck wasn't very good. Brown was a little better, at times, but missing the wide open TE over the middle late helped Iowa give this one away. Tradon Bessinger is supposed to be a real talent. He had better be the starter next season, and maybe he should get his feet wet soon. Neither Heck nor Hank is the answer.

It's the nightmare scenario that we had feared. Kirk and Tim went all in on the two and neither make a difference when they are in there. Either we start Bessinger THE REST OF THE YEAR and hope for the best, or get a 1 year rental in the portal.
YepWe need to start over at quarterback…. Pay someone over market for an average Big Ten QB!
Heck was terrible Brown was subpar. Thanks for admitting thatI've been advocating for Heck since before the season began, but I come to admit I was wrong. Heck wasn't good today. I have always advocated since the start of the portal era that you have to develop quarterbacks from within. We have always ended up with flawed quarterbacks taking them out of the portal. Get back to traditional recruiting of high school QBs. We now have Bessinger and Sullivan and the QB we just had the commitment from. We have become stuck on a treadmill we need to get off of.It can’t be Hank or Hecklinski starting at quarterback next year. It could be Sullivan or Bessinger but we can’t have another season derailed because our quarterbacks are this bad.
That ball needed to be lofted to allow the receiver time to get under it. He tried to dart it, like hello, it's a fat TE trying to curl around a dude, it's not Diaz.Brown's miss on the last drive to a WIDE OPEN guy in the middle of the field should tell you all you need to know about the quality of our QB play and KF's typical disregard for the importance of that position.
A legit B1G starting QB doesn't miss that throw. That was the ballgame. That ball needed to be lofted to allow the receiver time to get under it. He tried to dart it, like hello, it's a fat TE trying to curl around a dude, it's not Diaz.
Iowa is just a quarterback away from having a quarterback.
And you honestly think they’re any good?Lester not looking good right now. His two hand-picked guys that he spent more than a year developing, which he chose to go with over a proven guy from the portal, both looked like DII players against a pedestrian defense. Time to start from scratch. Neither of those two has a future at Iowa. Let’s get a look at the future.
JSully and Bess? If two guys that TL hand-picked out of HS aren’t any better than a couple guys he scrambled for to get from the portal scrap pile after the entire QB room left after ‘24, then we’ve got worse QB problems than I thought….And you honestly think they’re any good?
If they aren't then we are F'd for the foreseeable future. Hank or Heck ain't it.And you honestly think they’re any good?
You’re gonna have to remind me which throw by which QB that was? Heck at least two touchdown throws as well. It just didn’t seem like heck was going to settle down so I can understand why the coaches made the change.A legit B1G starting QB doesn't miss that throw. That was the ballgame.
"Nice excuses. Facts are different. Heck made quick decisions, put the ball on a dime, and threw an NFL-quality pass on that 2-pt. conversion.... Sorry about the facts. They have a way of getting in the way of excuses."I've been advocating for Heck since before the season began, but I come to admit I was wrong. Heck wasn't good today. Brown was a little better, at times, but missing the wide open TE over the middle late helped Iowa give this one away. Tradon Bessinger is supposed to be a real talent. Yes, Timmy said the offense didn't have the tools to really open up in the past few years....... but now.... he was set!! Well, looks like he still can't run the offense.Lester not looking good right now. His two hand-picked guys that he spent more than a year developing, which he chose to go with over a proven guy from the portal, both looked like DII players against a pedestrian defense. Time to start from scratch. Neither of those two has a future at Iowa. Let’s get a look at the future.
Heck's miss to Diaz with 2 steps ahead of his defender deep (underthrown) and miss to a wide open Diaz for an easy TD in the first half shows that both are extremely inconsistent. It's clear that neither has shown to have separated themselves as the true starter. Heck was terrible today, Brown was below average.Brown's miss on the last drive to a WIDE OPEN guy in the middle of the field should tell you all you need to know about the quality of our QB play and KF's typical disregard for the importance of that position.
