I think we'll get about 450 yards, just depends on whether the run or pass makes up the big plays to get there and if we get an early lead like last year. Last year we got up quickly and felt like we just went through the motions the second half to get the game over with. Probably be a little tougher going this year.

I tend to agree. Probably a bit less but 200+ from the run game. Would be nice to see Tony Diaz get into the game again. If Heck really is the guy to stretch the field, then lets get some shots to him to open things up.

The problem with that is, imo, we are wasting Diaz with him running all the motions and fake end arounds. I’d rather we have James running more of those type of plays and let Diaz be a threat in the deep passing game more. Let him run more routes instead of becoming the check down after the motion. I get that he’s an electric player, and they are trying to get him the ball in multiple ways, but he’s not being utilized in the passing game enough.

Minnesota has the 2nd best pass defense in the BigTen allowing just 159.7 ypg (Iowa 11th, 208.7 ypg).

False. I think we come out with a horizontal passing game to stop Minnesota from overloading the box on defense. This results in fewer passing yards and more rushing.

Minnesota will sell out to stop the run. With that I still think heck will get over 200 yards. Running game gets to 150 and the Hawks roll out being 6-1
Agree that Minnesota will bring the house to slow Iowa’s RBs, especially early, to force 3rd & 6 type situations in order to test Hecklinski against their strength - pass defense.
