There are several million reasons why he might not start over Zoom.

Williams in two exhibition games has shown more poise and skill than Zoom. I would love for Williams to get the lion's share of minutes, especially early to help maximize his effectiveness by post-season play.

I seriously hope it is just a funk that Zoom is in. No way is he that bad.

He’s a baller been obvious from the get go.

No fear, hustles, plays D, gets buckets, big, strong, athletic, can take contact and deliver it.

He is going to starter. Could be a #2 for sure if not have the offense run through him other places but we got Chilli and Moreno.

Could very well have some big number nights once he starts to hit his stride.

Cal isn’t the coach anymore and it’s no longercabout who has the highest draft stock, or who was ranked higher in hs.
Plus, this is UK basketball, so there will be injuries, it's our thing now.
Pope isn’t going to bench Diallo or Wilkins to start Williams considering what those two are making in nil.

I think he will eventually end up benching zoom for Mason.
That would make Zoom the backup guard off the bench and who knows how Zoom would respond to that demotion. To that point, Zoom already looks jaded by not being in at the end of halves. Kid hasn't had good body language so far and that's a big worry when you've only got three guys to roll with.

How he feels about it shouldn't matter and I dont think it will to Pope. It isnt to say Zoom cant get minutes at anywhere from the 1-3 but it is what it is. Pope isn't in a position to care about feelings. Zoom mishandled the ball so many time tonight.

Be patient with Zoom, he’s going to be very good. I trust Mo and Pope to develop him. He had some big games against really good defenses last year and after watching Aberdeen develop last year, I believe Zoom will follow the same path.

i agree with this 100%.

btw if anyone has any pics of either horse of cow manure either being swarmed by or mostly covered up by flies, please dm them to me at @chattanogawildcat

Shouldn't and doesn't are two separate things. You're 3rd guard option on a 3 guard team being in a bad mood and not having the heart to play his best is a problem whether it should be or not.

How can Zoom feed the bigs down low if the bigs are camped out around the three point line looking for their shot? And they have work to do on the pick and rolls.

Besides the fact that he is really good, he has a really impressive build. Not quite Kelenna Azubuike, but not far off, which is even more impressive considering he's just a freshman.
Let’s calm down a bit. Kelenna had 2 inches on him but they probably weigh about the same. Mason is a bull and he uses it to his advantage. I love him already, but Kelenna was a freak specimen.

Why do you think his only job is to feed bigs? This isn’t that type of offense. He just has to play within the concept of the offense, just like Butler did and also like Williams is doing now.
