Definitely don’t shorten rotations in exhibition games. It’s how you get to look at different groups and see what works best together. Also who plays with each other well. That’s what these games are for.
Fair enough, just think if u want hawthorne and mason to be what we all think they can be they need to have w longer leash yk, bc we already know what guys like kepnang and mcbride are

it’s not about knowing what others are. Have to see who plays with who best and how to use people. We got 4 games to let them get minutes before Kansas. The last 2 of those is where you really let the main guys play. I thought 21 mins for Mason was perfect this early. Hawthorne minutes will depend on matchups and foul trouble. He played 13 which is about where he will be unless he’s hot shooting. Then when Kam comes back who knows. I’d like to see Alex Milan and zoom at 28-30 mins minimum

Pope has no interest that kind of stuff. He had the opportunity for a team trip this summer and turned it down.

He’s just clueless or trying to get fired.

Those trips are useless for anything other than beating the crap out of bad teams. Also with all the injuries we have had his first 2 years could you imagine the backlash if Milan or someone goes and gets hurt.

Pope wanted to play in an active warzone. I’m still baffled by that decision. How clueless is Pope? What’s next, a scrimmage in Ukraine?
Yea that was weird place but a cool place to go if not for the stuff that ended up going on. But it was also reported most the players wanted to stay at uk over going on a trip.

Yes. But even after that was a no go he was given an opportunity to go to the Bahamas. Turned that down.

It’s an exhibition. It’s meaningless.

In the current era, nothing is meaningless. If a guy, especially one with eligibility left, thinks his team or role isn't going like he hoped - he will just sit out/get a nagging injury that just happens to take all season to heal.

We saw that last year. Dudes just didn't bother in some games. Quit part of the way through in others.

What are you saying, the players voted to not take a trip?
That’s what was reported. They chose to stay at uk and work on game there and then do that short Vegas trip. Bahamas is a joke anyway. Those teams are worse than a d2 team mostly. And the other players are usually hungover from partying and having fun.

Not going to say I saw a lot of that last year, but I think I saw some of it ... I get you

This is completely false. I get that you hate Pope but why make stuff up? The Athletic Director sets up the summer trips, not the head coach. Mitch has set them up a trip to Jerusalem, Israel. You know, because the athletic department has to do all the planning, lodging, travel, expenses, etc. The trip was cancelled because of conflict and instability in the region. Coach Pope then pivoted and worked with the Athletic Department to find a new summer tour but it was late in the game and difficult to put anything together. They settled on a team trip to Las Vegas. The closest thing they had was a Bahamas trip that THE PLAYERS didn't want to go on.

Mark Pope did not turn down a summer trip.

Pope's in over his head already and will probably end up getting himself fired. No need to continue to make up things because you are unhappy. You are allowed to dislike Pope and be truthful, ya know.

Toppin isn’t playing btw! So Texas tech is down its best player. Big 12 1st team!
I couldn't gives two squints about Toppin. We have lost multiple starters the last couple of years and its almost universal on here that injuries aren't an excuse, our backups should dominate the toughest schedule in the country. If a ranked TT club cant beat us, fire McCasland.

Thats how ridiculous it is around here sometimes

I am not unhappy. So get that truth out there, pastor. Nor am I making anything up. The team had the opportunity for a trip but chose to not. If you want to believe that pope had no say in that then just believe that. Nor do I hate Pope. He was one of my favorite UK players. I actually thought he was a great hire.

But you do you and make it about me. While Rome burns.

6th best player? Williams is better than Diallo, Wilkins, McBride/ Ouzi, and at this point, Moreno.
If you mean at this point is an exhibition came. How could you even argue that when he didn't even play in the exhibition came. I am a big fan of Williams. I think he should start, but to say he's better than everybody on the team, but Milan it's ridiculous
