Minny offense: A weak running team, only about 2.5 yards per carry bodes well of iowa
their qb Lindsay a very good veteran, makes all the throws, they have tallish WRs against our shorter Dbacks so expect Minny to pass any down and often and they like to throw the fade against the sideline. Their OLine not good run blocking as said but good pass pro

Minny defense: They have 2 very good DEnds who set up wide pre-snap and ASmith is a really good pass rusher but their 2 starting DTackles are poor against the run and their backups are poorer so expect Iowa to use a lot of power runs from guard-tackle to guard tackle gap. They have a very good Lbkr Berenoski?? and former hawk John Nestor is playing very well at one corner but the Bros say he bites on the first of a double move pass pattern a lot so maybe some out and ups and curl and go plays. They are in a 1 high safety alot as they us another safety to make an 8 man box and this defense leaves a big gap between the sideline cornerback and the middle safety so look for a receiver to go up the middle to occupy the one deep safety, a receiver to go up the sideline to occupy the corner, and then beat a LBkr or the other safety in the space by the hashmarks with a 3rd receiver to that side.

I hope it works out great for Iowa not just as a big fan but to see the players grow as a team and get rewarded.

They know Minnesota probably better than any opponent.

Also interesting to hear the first thing they said, which was that the run game and stopping the run, must both be dominant for Iowa to run the table.

Otherwise, Iowa will subject itself to "variance". The exact word I've been using for years.

I don't necessarily buy that you have to passify to beat the best teams. Mostly, it's just been an excuse for fans (and a poor one) to give a really good program a hard time.

But even if there's some truth to the necessity of passifying vs the best teams, Iowa couldn't have dominated the big ten west and 4 rivalry games without having had a good run game. What good is beating PSU if you lose to NW?

Turns out you don't impose your will by slinging around high degree of difficulty plays all the time. Who knew?

Sure, it's great to be good at both run and passify. Does it equate to beating OSU? Usually not.

That's not reason to not be good at both. But does delegitimize fan complaint about the passifier game.

What also delegitimizes the complaining is everything about the program that has allowed them to consistently win. Iowa has been able to avoid variance. And 90% of the programs in the country would love to be Iowa.

You would think there's plenty about Iowa football to appreciate and support (and most fans do, just talking about the "you know whos"). Because KF being a victim of his own success, can only go so far.

Because in the end, it's the success of a HOF career. People are angry at, bitter, made miserable by the football of a HOF coach! This is why bad sports fans are hated by so many.

If you're a consumer rather than a fan, get lost. Iowa doesn't need you. And KF has flat out told you that he isn't here to entertain you. So it would make sense to find a new team.

Of course there's an entertainment element to fans. But players and coaches don't play to entertain you. They play to win the game. And two teams playing to win a game is what provides entertainment.

But if you're even more selfish of a consumer, and have to have passifying, then be selfish enough to find a team that satiates you.

To at least not look like a fool, wouldn't finding a new team make more sense than complaining about a HOF coach?
