Good. Meaningless games. Teams with losing records were being rewarded. Obviously the finances didn’t support these senseless games.

You’re a few posts behind here. The old headline was that games were cut. The update is that more were added back because people love watching (gambling on) ****** bowl games and the finances work well for the networks

I actually don't mind them even if I don't watch them. I just don't like when coaches use them as some sort of accomplishment. They aren't.

Another one that depends on the venue.

I think that’s a baseball specific facility, the kind we seem to get stuck at. LOL
no doubt on a dirt baseball field where there are 10k pissed off people their baseball game got postponed because something called Los Rutgers is playing with their ,500 record vs Los East Carolina and their .500 record.

To be fair, our basketball team went to a post season tournament with a 14-19 record.
And that's just as silly.

I don't really care about more games, but when you see coaches like Schiano getting new contracts based off of less than mediocre results because of it, then it becomes an issue. We can all agree, bowl games used to actually mean something. Now they don't outside of those played in the playoffs, and before that, the very best of bowls.

Speaking of gambling., Texas Tech's star portal QB Brendan Sorsby is going to rehab for gambling.
Saw that. Something seems fishy here.

On the other hand, if he was betting on Indiana, where he played in 2022, maybe he has an issue:

McQuery 2.0? There was controversy after his exit from Cincinnati. He refused to pay back the NIL money when he left. We'll probably find out that he lost it all gambling.

I skip all the finger food bowls. Back in the day I would watch anything on but now there is too much football. Its like having your fav meal four days a week and getting sick of it. Six win bowl teams in an empty stadium are a joke.

It’s soemthing to watch during the holiday season but now we have on campus early round playoff games instead which is better.

Some of the playoff games will be on weeknights as well to avoid the NFL so they’ll be spread out a little just like the bowl games.

There may still be some bowls but they might be more orchestrated by the conferences to create interesting matchups.

Regardless, more meaningful games for less meaningful ones is a plus.
