This is why Will Stein said no to Cutter

He got benched at halftime. And you have wonder if he might have lost his starting spot for good, considering:

1st half: Boley is 5-10 with 2 interceptions including a pick 6 to start the game.

2nd half: his backup is 25-36 with 2 touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Which guy would you start next week?
Yeah his backup looked way better.

I could see Boley coming back to UK next year as a backup. I’d think his price dropped drastically after this year.

Shouldn't need him. Minchey can come back, and the stud freshman. Don't think Boley will want third string.

Not gonna hate on him. He made a decision that got him paid more than we were comfortable with. He just needs to play and dedicate himself to getting better. Money sometimes gets in the way of a players hunger. He has the tools, he’s at a place that can develop those tools but he’s gotta want it and work for it. All that being said, I like my quarterback. Kenny Minchey fits this offense. He’s calm, cool and collected. Some guy had him the 9th best quarterback in the SEC. That’s fine with me. These next 3 games will help continue to define this season. Win 2 of them and we are 6-2 headed to Knoxville. The rope is getting shorter on Chumlee down there. He might be ready to go home to Oklahoma.
I would hope. Anyone who said 9 th is like soo many sports dumbasses

Barker after injuries not before.
I certainly understand the sentiment, as Barker was rated the 4th best pro-style QB coming out of high school. Great potential, for sure.
I just never thought he showed that much during his first two (2) years, but the injury was definitely a real shame and sidelined him, unfortunately.
He very well may have blossomed his Junior year, as your post infers. I cannot disagree with that possibility, of course. He may have really shined.

Nah...
Minchey
Ponatowski
Nowrat

Boley has no place here....I think he is best to head to a school like Western Ky, MAC to see if he can put up stats and with his size and arm....make a long shot prospect for NFL.

Sadly, his days at ASU probably over...Take away his 6 TDs vs. Morgan St...he's been very up and down. He throws up stats vs. Hawaii, Baylor, but Texas AM, TKansas, exas Tech...he's poor. It aint' like the Big 12 is full of good defenses.....so it can't put up stats in that conference....he will have to step down lower level IMO

Might be 4th string if KM, Ponatowski, and Nawrot are on the roster. I left out Wither and Ward who might still figure in above any of the backups for all I know.
Yeah if Potanowski stays with FB I think him and Nawrot will battle for who takes over in two years after Minchey is gone. If he doesn’t transfer/try to go Pro I assume Stein will make him priority number one to return for a second year, which we should as well as he has played.

I can see Stein saying no thanks because we have a stable full of derby horses here already.
Why would we want to bring in a guy who is terrible when we have a bunch of top notch better QBs on the team?
No reason to. He would be a decent backup to have on the roster for sure but Stein wouldn’t put up with his stupid turnovers if he doesn’t figure that out. Our QB has to be very smart, which Minchey has been. He may not be the most gaudy numbers guy but he doesn’t turn the ball over and plays well when it matters.

Remember when someone from KSR ( can't remember who) went onto KSR radio show in January and said Stein is preparing to go with Boley as the starter? Yeah that was a ridiculous take.

Will never bash a KY kid that left for opportunity (or money), but we desperately needed to let Boley go. He got benched last game for ASU, about sums up how it would’ve gone here

CB is the only reason we scraped out any dubs last year.

Kid is raw no doubt but the talent and potential is there.

I don’t think folks really appreciate the staff and squad we have that most QBs don’t have.

Oregon ain’t looking so hot without Stein. I know UCLA’s HC was a big loss for them too but the game today is through the QB/OC/Offense

Shout out to Sloan too. Him and Stein combined is proving to be lethal.

He can’t play stupid football for other schools. He natural ability kept him starting here because Stoops couldn’t recruit a decent QB no matter how much he paid him.

Sloan has really impressed me. LSU struggled some when he was there. He was well liked by players from all I had seen but I don’t think he was the issue.
