Today proves that the SEC deserves at least 6 teams in the 2026 CFP

Right now Iowa is on the outside looking in.

4 SEC teams
3 B1G teams
3 Big 12 teams

1 ACC team
1 Independent (ND)

1. Miami (ACC Champ)
2. Ohio State (B1G Champ)
3. BYU (Big 12 Champ)

4. Notre Dame
5. Indiana
6. Georgia
7. Ole Miss

8. UCLA

9. Kentucky
10. Tennessee

11. Utah
12. Texas Tech

Kentucky has two tough road games and Florida at home plus Louisville so they can drop as Kentucky usually does. All this depends on Iowa being 10-2 at the worst which they can do with a lot of great play and good bounces. Indiana has one of the best FG kickers but it didnt work yesterday, stuff happens.

Last week #6 Alabama lost at home to #2 Georgia by three points and AP kept Bama at #6 the following week.

This week #5 Indiana lost at home to #4 Ohio St. by four points.

Do we think AP will keep Indiana at #5?

Bama and LSU playing in two weeks. Basically an elimination game. Tennessee and Kentucky in two weeks as well. Lots of moving parts in the SEC coming up. Just keep winning Hawks.
You are right, a lot of football left to be played.

They prob would have stayed put if BYU didn’t jump everyone with their big win.
Which is a little weird. BYU wins in the last second at home against #2 team and jumps 6 spots. Ohio St. wins on the road in the last second against #5 team and moves up 1. Miami needed double OT to beat an unranked FSU at home and they moved up more spots than OSU did for beating the #5 team on the road.

OSU would be up there if they were undefeated. Texas loss isn’t looking so quality anymore.

I know us B1G fans don't like to admin it, but the SEC is loaded outside of Arkansas and Vanderbilt.
Not so sure about this.

The SEC has been top heavy for a few years. Not great depth.

I'm thinking this year is more that their top teams aren't great, than it is teams that have been 2nd tier becoming anything special.

That being said, I don't think the big ten is that great this season either

Exactly what I thought earlier today. She has to "earn the respect of the vets." You know that aint happening.

The loaded SEC? The conference with a 2-8 record against the Big Ten in bowl games the past two seasons combined? Even if you take out OSU and Indiana, the record is 2-5.

An SEC team losing to another SEC team is not a loss. It is losing to another SEC team. That is not really a loss. Furthermore the winner just beat an SEC team. That is a great victory. 12 SEC team playoff. It could be one game for both the SEC and National title. The same thing!

I think as long as Iowa shows up mentally and wins the turnover battles they have a great shot at 10-2 or 11-1.

And remember, most on here thought this was an 8-4 (9-3, at best) type of team.

This Iowa team is EXCEEDING expectations.

I had them at 9-3 because I thought beat ISU but lose at Mich and to OSU and one other game. 8-4 was my low point but they could still end up 7-5
