To win regular season title, Hawks with 1 Big loss, if they run the table do we need OSU to beat IU today?

How can the hawks get a share of the Big 10 regular season title?

If Iowa runs the table that means that Wisky has one loss and Iowa has that tie breaker.

I think UCLA will lose sometime down the line because their qb and his legs is out.

So is Indy or OSU the leader to go undefeated as one loses today. If Indy wins today they might not lose a regular season game

If Indy wins today then their game at USC looks to be the one they might lose. OSU is at USC and Nebby plus the hated rivalry game with Mich. I hate to pull for OSU on the road but I would like to see Iowa tie for the regular season title or even win it outright.

And is this the year that Iowa wins all the games they should win??

The B1G will get 3 teams for sure. Iowa is likely playing for the #3 slot. I think UCLA fades with the loss of Lamaleava. USC will lose again (they have Indiana and tOSU). Wisconsin will lose to Iowa and possibly USC.

Win out and we're in.

Well things aren't looking great for OSU, as Day announced Sayin is going to miss a few weeks due to injury. OSU has the talent to take care of most teams, but it increases the likelihood of dropping at least one more which could keep them out of the playoffs.

So Indiana and Iowa both lost to the same team. Indiana obviously looked better than our loss. But then it would go to record vs common opponents and then on to tiebreaker 3

Maybe they could lose to Michigan or Washington for us.

Lets beat Minnesota first

One week at a time. You don't make dinner for next week before you make it for today.

These posts crack me up. Guess what? We're FANS. We get the luxury of looking past opponents. Let people discuss future scenarios and future dinners if they so choose to. We don't need message board subject police. Avoid threads like this if you don't like them.

My ideal scenario is for Iowa to win out but not make the conference championship game. That would guarantee us a 5-8 seed and get to host a playoff game. I’d take hosting a playoff game in Kinnick over playing in the conference championship game.
Winning the Big Ten when we have a chance should ALWAYS be a priority. Iowa hasn't had a conference championship in 22 years, and outright championship in 41 years and only 5 total conference championships since a vast majority of people on this board have been alive.

Iowa will have plenty of opportunities for home playoff games (SIXTEEN teams will be hosting playoff games every season starting next season if this new format gets approved). Iowa will have very, very few opportunities for a shot at the Big Ten championship.

Ok, I will bite. It's a rather ridiculous question. ANY P4 11-1 team will make it in the playoff.

We win out the regular season, we're in, regardless if we lose B1G Championship game.

Is the regular season title even a thing in cfb? Pretty sure it’s CCG or bust.
Correct. Unlike in basketball, baseball and a host of other sports, there is not a "regular season" and "tournament" champion (with only the tournament champion getting an automatic postseason bid) in football. The winner of the BTCG is the outright conference champion, period. I don't know a single Hawkeye fan who claims 2015 as a "regular season B1G championship" for Iowa, as the only 8-0 reg season team.

Now, when CCG's are eliminated, as it looks like they will after this season, then we will be going back to regular season champs and frequent co-championships. They will probably have a tiebreaker system to determine each conference's CFP auto-bid, but it will rarely matter for the B1G, much like in basketball.

With 18 teams, wonder if we'll see any 3-way teehee champs.
