I know Wilkins and Zoom look bad right now, but we really need to let Mo and Pope develop them. They have size and athleticism.
I don’t think either have “size” at all. Time will tell, but they didn’t look good at all. ULR had a 5’10” dude at best playing them most of the time.

If I’m Mark Pope, and I understand basketball is a guard dominant game. I’m hanging my career on a combo of Diallo and Wilkins? Yeah, no thanks.

If Pope is any kind of a coach he will not be pleased with a lot of things, and players, and he better be tough on them and demand excellence. Not even getting 70 points against this team is terrible. Better see a lot of improvement.

Pope has never developed anyone yet.
Who gets the credit for what DA did last year then? Mark Fox?
DA was worse that Diallo us right now, by SEC play, he was a savior without a true pg.
Against SJ, he couldn’t get the vall to half court. He list the uNC game all by himself, but, like I said, by January, he was pretty good.

DA was a high level guard coming off the bench for a national championship roster. Pope didnt develop jack crap. Get real

I think it’s the biggest issue with Pope. He had to hang it on those two because he misses on so many recruits

By conference play Williams is probably PG1. He's green but he looks the most natural at PG. Just a guess.

I see a team full of role players. Just like the last two years. Gotta have star playmakers to win at a high level. When pope was hired I said we’d see three years of mediocre basketball and he’d be gone. I’m looking forward to that being true. Let’s give our new AD a chance to bring in his guy.
No way???? You mean the season is predictable??? You mean Pope has a Murray state roster??? Again??? Lmao.

Big Chilli is as elite of a shooter as there is.

Really like Williams. He may be starting before year’s end. That kid has real potential and work ethic. He hustles, plays D, can score…

Hawthorne a little raw but I like him. He’s not shy. He’s got the length. He’s got a decent little stroke.

Njai is interesting.

Overall we got dudes who can shoot and more importantly will shoot it!

This is the first game against someone other than your teammates, I’m not to worried about it. The staff knows the problems and they will work it out. The guard play was shakey and some shots were forced and the ball handling could have been better. I was impressed with Williams, he looked composed and steady. For the majority of the team to be transfers, it wasn’t that bad but I fully expect our guard play to be a lot better and I think it will. I also thought Little Rock was pretty athletic and got after us on defense, it’s not like they were chopped liver.
