New Trier (7-1) plays Evanston (5-3) on Friday at NRF and it is either a sell-out or close to it. There were some upper level corner seats available as of yesterday. Game was scheduled months ago as, I assume, a way to generate local interest in NRF. NT QB is headed to Purdue.

Don’t know about clubs although I am in the Loft Club for NU and could not buy tickets there. I would imagine that at least some concessions would be open but have not seen anything saying so.
It looks as if the game is on Hudl:

The reason I asked is if the venues with the TVs are closed it might be an interesting comparison fir how fun the stands look.

Does nu get some of revenue generated by this game?
It'd depend on the contract specifics, but generally yes Northwestern's AD should be making money on any event that takes place at the stadium (which would include something like this).

For a game like this, I'd venture that the two schools get a good split of the ticket revenue while Northwestern is probably going to reap profit off concessions/parking.

The new stadium is probably going to generate around triple (maybe higher) the revenues of the old stadium over time (especially once concerts are added in). It's going to be a much bigger 2nd economic engine for the AD compared to old RF (first is always going to be the Big Ten conference share).

They are two local schools, but if they sold anything close to 35,000 tickets to a HS football game, I am amazed.
It's interesting. My kid went through Evanston schools and it's an authentic grudge match with a lot of socio-economic implications that the kids on both sides understand and some adults are not real happy with. Combine that with a lot of people wanting to get a look at the new wonder of world and I think you've got quite a night.

It suggests to me that the average Evanstonian doesn't relate to NU in the sense that they don't appear to be the kind of fan base that decides at the last minute to go out to the NU stadium to get a cheap ticket to see a game they know won't be sold out. Kind of a towny vs elite mindset? You wouldn't think so given the economic statosphere much of Evanston is in. Truly I don't understand the dynamics other than NU doesn't seem to be a beloved local institution based on game attendance.

Nah, this is the wrong take.

They've been opening allotments based on what they were expecting and each allotment has sold fast. Anything over 25k is probably well over their original expectations for this game.

Originally, they probably only planned to open up 15-20k seats, so they've been opening more sections every few days to handle all the extra demand given all the initial allotments selling out...

Socio-economic implications that the parents aren’t happy with?
