Watching clips from the LSU game and seeing how the OL took care of business against one of the top defenses in the country reminded me of seeing the OL under John Schlarman when UK won the Citrus Bowl over Penn State. That last drive that Gran and Schlarman put together to run out the clock was a thing is OL perfection. This is the best OL UK has had since that year.

Some Know-it-All Nancies demeaned the hire when Leftwich was placed on staff, saying his resume was lacking. Will Stein and Joe Sloan knew otherwise. This guy and this line are elite.

Agree he is doing well. We really upgraded talent on the OL and its making a difference. We literally might end up with two first team all Americans, at C and LT.

Special kudos to Malachi Wood. LSU has one of the elite pass rushers in the country and they lined him up over Wood most of the game. Wood handled it nicely. Sure he had help from his oc, but he still really stood up to that massive challenge. Kid really helped his future with that performance.

Aren’t there 2 or 3 OL coaches?

Not saying Leftwich isn’t doing a great job, but I like that the staff has so many coaches to help with extra eyes and more attention for individual player attention for skill development

Yeah. I think every position coach had assistants. A great coach develops coaches and i think Stein is going to.

Stein was just talking about Wood in his press conference and said he’ll end up being a third rounder.

In my view, Stein's early emphasis on using roster money to recruit high-quality offensive linemen is the most impressive move he made after taking the job. I hope this emphasis continues, if not increases. A reputation for paying Top Dollar for linemen would serve the program well and provide increasing momentum for the program.
