Class A: Millard West (4-3) at Millard North (6-1)
- I think everyone else that is "supposed to win" is going to win.. So, with that, I like this game. Here's why. Millard North is the better team; however, I feel like they play down to their competition some, definitely at the beginning of games.. We all know that Westside and Millard South are the number 1/2 teams.. But who's number 3? Is it MN? Is it Bennington? Someone else? I think if Millard North goes out and beats West by 35-40 points, then that tells us a lot about them. If it's a tight game? Maybe that tells us just as much.
Millard North: 42 - Millard West: 21

Class B: Blair (6-1) at Platteview (5-2)
- Good on both of these teams for being in this position, especially Blair, who has struggled recently. This is all a part of this Class B "Emerging District" drama that I don't fully understand. I'm not sure how it works? One of these guys has to win out to have a chance at playoffs? Is that right? 7-2 could leave them at home?
Blair: 34 - Platteview: 24

Class C1: Wahoo (5-2) at Ashland-Greenwood (7-0)
- Listen, trap game. Trap game. Trap game. Trap game. Wahoo has continued to get better, but they do have their vulnerabilities. Wouldn't a win over dominant and class c1 favorite AG really "right the ship" for the Warriors. Don't count Chad Fox out... BUT, don't count our class c1 favorite AG, haha. They're the real deal. I think AG wins, BUT, if Wahoo keeps it close, they could pull it off.. Never say never.
Ashland-Greenwood: 40 - Wahoo: 34

Class C2: Ord (7-0) at Grand Island Central Catholic (7-0)
- If GICC is gonna lose a game, it's this week, and they won't. BUT, good for ORD for positioning themselves to be on this stage again. I think this COULD be a close game, or could not.
GICC: 38 - Ord: 20

Class D1: Crofton (6-1) at Hartington-Newcastle (7-0)
- In my opinion, doesn't get better than this, this is the game of the week maybe all class. HN has scored and scored and scored, at times they've been vulnerable to letting some scoring happen, but it appears that is the exception not the norm. Crofton is a preseason potential state champ. I don't know anyone in these communities - but I hope everyone is healthy and this is everything that it should be. I think it could be a really, really, high scoring affair. I don't mean the defenses won't show up, I just think both offenses will put on a show. 390 and 415 points forced this year, 805 between the two?!?! Who wins? I'm not positive.
Crofton: 60 - Hartington Newcastle: 58
Hartington Newcastle: 60 - Crofton: 58

D2: David City Aquinas (5-2) at East Butler (6-1)
- A few meaningful games out there in D2 land; however, this one has my attention. I'm curious how EB bounces back after their first loss last week. A loss, by the way, that they were sort of in control of early on at least. No shame in losing to SRC, they're that good, DC Aquinas is no slouch, though. EB seems to have something to em, though. No hangover.
East Butler: 42 - David City Aquinas: 30

D3: Brady (7-0) at Anselmo-Merna (5-2)
- Yes, there's like 14 important games in D3 this week it appears. However, I'm interested, as I'm sure a lot of people are, if Brady is really this good? And I don't mean that disrespectfully. 7-0, that's great! Anselmo-Merna was a hot topic to start the season, they've lost 2 games but... To 2 really good teams in Burwell and Twin Loup. I think this game will be very telling, for both teams, on Friday night. I like the story, though.
Brady: 38 - Anselmo Merna: 34

Should be a good one between us & Brady. Like the previous post, we need the W to get in the playoffs!! Only 16 teams make it so win we are district champs. Lose one more game vs. Maxwell will mean nothing except experience for the younger classmen!! See you all in Merna Friday night!! GBR LetsGoCoyotes

Having seen GICC & Ord in person since my son's team played both. I think GICC should win handily. I could be wrong but GICC dominated us where as we played Ord tough for a half. In fact our own mistakes is what blew the game open in the third quarter. We've also played Gothenburg and I don't know how they lost to Ord. Gothenburg looked so much better and they dominated us like GICC did. But that's why they play the games.

A lot on the line between East Butler and Aquinas. A historic rivalry, one which only Mimick and company at Aquinas understands.
If Aquinas beats EB, then EB has another, possibly even tougher turnaround against Lourdes, who dominated Aquinas. As for Aquinas, they play Shelby in Week 9. Another historic rivalry, but probably know their chances of winning are pretty low. Do they sell out against the Tigers looking to get their 6th win and potentially avoid a bottom four seed in the playoffs?

I think both teams know there's a lot more to this game than a number in a column. East Butler wins in athleticism, but if Aquinas is able to ground and pound EB like Shelby did, I think the Tigers could see their 2nd straight loss.
