Just put the hammer down and get ready to rumble!!!!! After Rutgers, the real hard tests come. We need to get these two games to ensure bowl eligibility, although I think we will get at least a couple wins post Rutgers.

Would be really great so solidify bowl eligibility the next 2 games. We’re clearly much better than just a bowl eligible team when healthy, but the question marks about our secondary health and the somewhat thin offensive line depth make any victory uncertain in the tough back stretch of the schedule.

Michigan State had a lot of injuries and still managed to take Illinois into OT after trailing. A little worried the way MSU turned the game around and they seem to have depth with athletic players. Don’t think it will be a rollover but believe we should still win.
Illinois is playing horrible football right now. They fired their DC and are stuck using the same bizarre defensive scheme that got the DC fired. Both the Illini and MSU are just a tad above Rutgers at this point, if that...

Fitz was really fired up during the Illinois game. I think he will take that fire into this game. I would think it would be a revenge game for him. It could also be a meltdown game for him if the Illinois game is any indicator.

We have to be sharp, well prepared and hopefully also get at least a couple guys back fully healthy. It’s only our second road game and while we ended up doing well at Indiana, we got off to a very slow start. We are clearly more talented and executing more consistently but there are enough intangibles in this game with Fitz (both emotionally and he also must know McGarigle’s defense quite well as a protege of Hank), Chiles going back to MSU, etc. that make it not just a road game against a mediocre opponent. They could either be flat after last week or they could be feisty.

His team stinks and they’re banged up on top of it. He went for 2 in OT because his D was too banged up to play another possession (his words during post game presser). They’re going to have a million things go right to have a chance this weekend.

I can't believe I'm actually going to say this, but I'm not worried. I mentioned this last week vs. Ball State - for the first time pretty much ever in my life as a Northwestern fan, I actually believe in our ability to perform to expectations. Of course upsets happen, but we are objectively and firmly a better team than Michigan State right now. It wouldn't surprise me if we win but don't cover, but I'm literally expecting victory...it's such a nice feeling.

Brauny pointed out they have only won 1 away game from their last 6.

Another prove it moment for the Cats and hope the Kelly effect prevails.

Be wary of them injuring our qb - they injured former MSU qb houser. Also be wary of the Shrek Claps!👏
