We’re probably going to be the higher ranked team in Tiger Stadium

I’m sure we’ll be betting underdogs but still, it will have been a LONG time since we went down there with a number beside our name that’s better than theirs.

State may not move up, but several may fall behind State while a few teams pass State in the rankings. I believe the voters gave State the benefit of the doubt last week after they found out our QB was playing hurt and essentially immobile and out Running Back couldn’t go. They essentially wrote off the 35 point difference. But Bama was exposed tonight. When they start slow against great teams it’s different than starting slow against State and Kentucky. Another slow start doomed them against UGA because the UGA front 7 wasn’t going to allow them to run and escape the pocket at will and their back 4 weren’t going to allow receivers to be 10 to 15 yards wide open like State and UK did.

Of all the times to get an 11 AM game in Baton Rouge....

I think playing at 11 am is the last thing anyone affiliated with that program wants to do.

Tonight is the first time their fans are truly pissed at Kiffin. The mood in that stadium is going to start off annoyed and if we can get ahead of them early, the boo birds might start to come out.

Is losing by 3 to a 5-0 UGA team getting exposed?

When you play level or better competition than Mississippi State and Kentucky, yes. Alabama was supposed to win. They were averaging 50 points a game against SEC teams. They may not lose again but UGA showed any solid defense left on Bama’s schedule the recipe.

They came within 3 pts and a blown call by the ref taking away a TD of beating the best team they'll face on their schedule. They didn't get exposed. They won't face a better team again this year. That was it. They won't lose again, either. Unless they face UGA in the SEC championship game. And they may not lose that game. It'll be even money.

LSU is beatable. We HAD a much better chance of beating them than of bearing Bama. I hope I'm wrong but we are gonna wind up "throwing away" a winnable game thanks to lack of foresight.

KT is out for quite some time. They are trying to see if it heals enough by Oklahoma but a good chance he’s out that game too. Injury is worse than the staff originally thought

LSU got a high preseason ranking due to Kiffin. They are a good team, but they have not shown they are a top 10 team all year. This high preseason ranking propped up Ole Miss and then Florida. As the season goes on it seems clear to me the power of the conference is Georgia and Alabama.

Alabama wasn’t “supposed to win”. Georgia was a three point road favorite, which means they would’ve been favored by a touchdown at home. Georgia is the class of the conference, and Alabama is right on their heels. Everyone else looks to be pretty far off of those two teams.

I think you are right and I think what gives Georgia a slight edge is Bama is more dependent on how Russell plays.

Bama lost a 3-point game to maybe the best team in the country. That’s not getting exposed.

I've heard the same from people that give a great deal of money to State. These aren't just people that go to a practice here and there.

We'll see...hope they're wrong.
Well i too have had some conversations with those in the know and right now it’s still in the air. Lots and I mean lots of rumors going around about things that did or didn’t happen this week or what certain players said at a HS game Friday…
Based on what I can say is no decision to play or not to play has been made.

If KT has an injury that would benefit significantly from another week of rest I really hope we hold him and maybe concede a game we’re likely to lose with him in a reduced capacity.

Is Puckett really our #2 QB?? If so, and no offense to Puckett, but wtf did we see in Swann if he can’t step in and be serviceable for a game or two with all his experience???

Who knows. But, it’s Lebby’s job to have a bare minimum of two QB’s who can be serviceable enough for us to compete and win games that are winnable. And an 11 AM game at Tiger Stadium against a 3-2 and likely unranked LSU team is a winnable game.

No excuses whatsoever if we go out there and lay an egg due to terrible QB play. So, hopefully Puckett out there with the 1’s is at least similar to Shapen.

As painful as it was, I did rewatch the Bama game and there is no doubt KT’s foot impacted several throws that could have been TDs and made him virtually immobile. With that said, he did still make some great throws and threw 250+ yards on a great D with no running game. It also may have been our OLine’s best pass blocking game considering the competition. I know toe turf can linger for weeks; however, if he has any improvement over the last two weeks and we can get Fluff back, we can put up points on LSU.

If it is turf toe, it doesn’t linger for weeks. More like months. It won’t be right again all season, and will strictly be a pain tolerance thing for him until after the Egg Bowl, and at that time he would need surgery to resolve it which will permanently immobilize him for a month or two (no bowl game, maybe no spring, etc.)

So, hopefully it is NOT turf toe.

Not necessarily so; it all depends on the severity.

Thanks for saying a whole lot, without really saying anything. You could have thrown in a “very fluid situation” reference in there for added bonus points.

H threw for 250+ in 3 quarters vs Alabama. Would have easily been well over 300 if the game had been in any doubt. I seriously doubt we'll see him running the ball much the rest of this year. But like you say, any improvement at all from 2 weeks rest and he'll be better than most QBs in this league.
