We also saw +200 yds on the ground.

Amazing how much easier it is the pass when you can run the ball
It's also way easier to pass the ball when you have receivers standing in the end zone with no defenders within 10 yards of them. I don't know if that was the worst pass defense I've ever seen or the greatest play designs but a few of those were completely undefended.

A combination of Iowa scheme and Huskie incompetence. Lester’s offense starting to bloom, I think.

Vonnahme looked bored standing back there all by himself.

You gotta be able to make the lay ups

We haven't always had guys that can do that consistently

Those weren't even layups. More like gifts. My 66 year old azz can throw it 30 yards to a guy standing free with no problem. On one of them there were 2 receivers without a defender within 10 yards. It was inexplicable.

If we meet Ohio State in the BTCG we will see what happens in the rematch
I can tell you what happens right now. We got boatraced IN KINNICK (held our own for a bit but.......).

On a neutral field, expect more of the same, or worse.

Unless you think Iowa has somehow reinvented itself in Kirk's 100th year at the helm. I don't. But, they have to play the game, and miracles do happen, just not to Iowa in Big Ten Championship games. (and a huge assumption that Iowa is in it)

It was both. The 2nd td to Big Vonnahme was a fake run up the middle and a fake reverse to a receiver which totally messed up their defense and Big Vonn just strolled through their secondary because they were so confused they didnt know who to guard

We get it. Heck knocked up your teenage daughter. That's on you for not teaching her better morals.

HINT: When the opponent faces a mobile QB, more of the defense needs to stay close to the line ... this frees up more opportunities for the receivers.

In the deep TD to wide open DJ, Heck had to outrun a rushing defensive lineman as he was fake pitching it to Diaz. I don’t think that play is in the playbook for Hank, and if it is, I don’t think Hank escapes the rush to make an accurate throw.

I agree. They complement each other. There were however some severe defensive breakdowns by UW. Letting not one but 2 receivers run completely free on the same side of the field on the same play should never happen.

True. Wash defense is really bad. However from a positive side, our QB didn't throw the ball at the feet of a wide open receiver!!!

I think Iowa's receiving unit has been running under the radar, even amongst some of us fans.

We have 2 NFL WR, and 2 NFL TE running routes and catching the ball in black and gold.
After years of WR's snubbing us and going to Oregon and the likes. It's refreshing and almost astounding to see it happening while KF is still under the helm.

Meanwhile we argue over which QB should play, because both are looking better than any QB we have had since Stanley.

It's good to be a Hawkeye.
