I would take the LSU job over the Florida job, personally. The big reason Kiffin passed on Florida was they wanted him to have a different GM. Lane wanted his own guy. I think Flordia will turn it around. They need a qb. They're one dimensional

Brumation time in the Swamp, apparently.
"Git your ugly, smelly, reptilian *** back into the swamp, mister!"
This is spot on. Florida has been playing in the SEC for 90 years. Outside of that 20-30 year period between Spurrier and Meyer (who faked a medical condition to leave that place), Florida is a historically bad football program.Reality is Florida lucked out with Spurrier, one of their former players, turning into one of the greatest college football coaches of all time in the 90s and then hiring Meyer, who also turned out to be one of the greatest coaches of all time in the 00s, but outside of that? It’s not been great for them. Their luck has kind of run out. They have money, but can they compete with the prestige of other top schools SEC schools? I mean it was clear that Lane Kiffin had a choice between LSU and Florida and he took the LSU job. They’ll always be a second tier job for most potential coaches.
And that includes their basketball program being just as lucky with Donovan and then Golden. But who the hell would want that job after that? Where’s the prestige? It might not matter as much in the NIL era, but I think coaches of all sports still venerate it.
While they have not been on the same level outside of that period I think calling them a bad program is inaccurate and unfair. This is spot on. Florida has been playing in the SEC for 90 years. From 1940 until the late 80s. They only had 4 9 win seasons. While they have not been on the same level outside of that period I think calling them a bad program is inaccurate and unfair.
They got messed up. Our win there looks better now. Florida is crashing. Didn’t expect that.will Florida drop all the way out of the top 25 with a loss
That’s the truth. He’s awful.Third and Brad in full effect for Florida.
Ole Miss is far from garbage. They are wrecking Vandy today. He beat a garbage ole miss team who was hyped for LSU. They were without their best player too. That's his claim to fame.
I want his *** scorched. Wait until half of that fanbase who barely pays attention and thinks the're entitled to championships for some reason wakes up and notices they've got a Mark Stoops staff![]()
KinkyCocks totally dominating Gators !!
Bet the Sumrall shine is wearing off. They got messed up. Our win there looks better now. Florida is crashing. Didn’t expect that.
They only played 7 to 10 games in 21 of those seasons. In those 50 years they finished .500 or better 37 times. Not near on level with the period you cited by any means but like I said I wouldn't call it bad either. From 1940 until the late 80s. They only had 4 9 win seasons.
Man. Brad white defense is getting shreded by any team that csn pass the ball …his zone defense was bad bs good passing teamWin at South Carolina looking better. Home game against the gators looking better.
If Kiffin was willing to go to Florida over an issue that, it would have been done. There were more issues that then. Saban told Kiffin LSU is the better job, the money was better at LSU, and Kiffin thought Florida was a step down. There were stipulations on certain business situations not saying that's incorrect, but there were other issues. Kiffin was never going to florida as soon as LSU opened up.The big reason Kiffin passed on Florida was they wanted him to have a different GM. Lane wanted his own guy. Im sure there was. Was just saying what was reported at the time he seemed to be deciding. He did send his family to Gainesville to check it out. But Sumrall is a good coach. Kiffin even said he was a rising star. He might have been a better fit at Auburn. Idk...but I think he figures it outIf Kiffin was willing to go to Florida over an issue that, it would have been done. There were more issues that then. Florida is a hit or miss program without a long pedigree. They're the new power on the block who has a lot of trouble putting things together. Couple that with a fanbase that thinks it's Alabama, and it's a disaster job just ask Dan Mullen. Who fires a guy doing what Mullen was doing and hires guys like Napier and Sumrall with a UK coaching staff.
Florida does.

LSU is weird. They have moderate historical success, but since the 2000s they’ve done just as well as anyone not named Alabama. Really, they have a pretty good claim at being second along with Ohio State. If Kiffin was willing to go to Florida over an issue that, it would have been done. There were more issues that then. Pitt lost, so I’m sure the pollsters will just slide Wake Forrest into that spot
Well said. Many teams get mentally beat down too, I remember about 20 years ago when UL beat an Alabama team in a bowl game. Alabama didn’t even want to be there, and you could see it.Its amazing watching pollsters create parity where there is none.
Football is basically a few top big ten teams, miami, and all the sec. You could drop Arkansas in the acc or big 12 and theyd be towards the top.
Also that insane in league talent is why I hated a 9 game schedule. By the time anyone gets to the playoffs, they're physically just done. Meanwhile iu, osu, nd, and miami get to constantly rest guys and be fresh for their run.
Damn I’m getting old that was 35 years ago.Well said. Many teams get mentally beat down too, I remember about 20 years ago when UL beat an Alabama team in a bowl game. Alabama didn’t even want to be there, and you could see it.

Too much in-state talent for Florida not to be good. The big reason Kiffin passed on Florida was they wanted him to have a different GM. Lane wanted his own guy. I think Flordia will turn it around. They need a qb. They're one dimensional
I think Sumrall will be fine; I expect Florida to be elite next year. Their defense is awful and they do not have a QB who can take over. Florida will destroy teams who have undisciplined LBs, but Sumrall needs to get the Napier stench out.Always knew this wasn't going to work. Said day 1 Will Stein is the better hire, was obvious. Sunbelt Sumrall with his anti-Sunbelt Billy routine, acting like a tough guy drooling over the Florida fanbase trying to get them to accept him. Sht became so cringe.
That's a GD Kentucky football staff at florida. Brad White? I couldn't stand the guy. Florida fans deserve this Trainwreck coming and Sunbelt Sumrall can suck on this for life. He would have been a big time UK lifer but instead decided chasing that nonsense hit or miss program Florida and begging them to accept him. Couldn't happen for a better person as far as I'm concerned.
I've got him fired middle of year 3. As Ive said Florida isn't looking for good. They're looking for titles. And they want them now, it's a delusional fanbase. That was the worst place for him to go, period. And it's not going to work out. But he's allowed to come back and do the Y at Kentucky basketball games when he's ran out.
