Bruder seems to have found her mojo.
Yes, that is because teams cannot key on her now. Having Heck, Dani, and Brunning playing now is forcing teams to have to play her straight up with no double or triple teams. If those three players were not playing Bruder would still be struggling. Those three players impact on this team all the way around is tremendous. Go Heels!

re: the announcer - he was so much more interesting and knowledgeable than anyone covering field hockey I’ve heard in a long time. Wish I knew what his name was so I could catch that midnight radio show of his, lol
perfect mix of energy, play call, and explanation of more obscure calls/rules. And he actually learned the scouting reports/press packets. i would take this guy any time.

Liberty will be a much tougher opponent Sunday. Will certainly test our defense. We will have to do well possessing the ball to minimize their offensive opportunities. They have some good midfielders so it could be an ugly game. I hope we have a better 1Q start so we do not give Liberty a sliver of hope.

Liberty has a laughable 16!!!! Internationals on roster. They could almost field an entire team from Argentina alone, with 9 on roster. One being a freshman who has some great individual skill in Clarisa Iudicello. She has had some highlight worthy goals this season, one today vs Georgetown. Fun player to watch for sure.

Hopefully we put it to em’ early and often. Goooo Heels!

Side note: 6 goals in one quarter has to be a record?
UNC vs Ball State - fall 2018 - close maybe

7 - 1st half
2 - 2nd half

After the 9th UNC goal scored, Coach Shelton told the team not to score again - even missed a penalty stroke.
Beating an opponent by 10 goals does not promote good will, she answered when asked.

I think games were two halves still in 2018.

I think so.

This was their worst loss since 2013, the previois worst was to an UNC championship team 0-6 a few years back.

St Joes has won the A-10 title (regular season or tourney, usually both) 9 consecutive years (skipping COVID season). #27 RPI. This is was solid team
As I stated before, having Brunning, Dani, and Heck back playing has had a tremendous impact on our team. They are providing leadership, confidence, and making the game easy and fun. Our young players are now understanding and adjusting to the college game now. They have gotten better each game. Coco has stepped up her game. This team needed those 3 to show and teach them how to win games, etc. We are seeing this team evolved right in front of our eyes.

Daryle Dobos.
He calls ice hockey, field hockey & lacrosse. Loves them all & is a true professional.
Thanks! His passion for the craft of commentating was obvious, even in that hot mic segment;) A real talent that must have taken years for him to develop.

Just wanted to add: I thought the coaching staff’s steady rotation and selection of subs and playing time for a majority of the roster was pretty masterful against St. Joe’s. Hadn’t seen anything quite like that before and it made me proud. They are committed to developing the roster and it has been fun to see new talents emerge. Particularly Barbacci and Miller (holy crap, the wheels on her - and her technical play has improved as well).

Whiff there by the Heel defender on that 2nd goal. Looked like she had it sized up pretty good.
