Hear me out...if New Balance gave us creative control, I'm in. Their cleats are fantastic. Much better than Nike IMO. With Ohtani and Flagg, they are a brand on the rise.

They currently have one P4 school, Boston College. I’m sure they’d love to expand. I’d be game if they are willing to give us a sizable pay raise from what Adidas is doing.

I like their cleats and the Ohtani stuff and was uniform shopping a while back and asked about NB, and a rep told me their stuff wasn’t up to par in terms of quality for the price. No idea if that’s the case or not, but just what I was told. Of course they may have a higher profit margin from selling the other brands too.

I've never bought a shirt or shorts from NB. So I have no clue either. I just know their cleats are legit.

Funny - there are no actual quotes from adidas re: State. Just info “from industry insiders” to Rebels247 that adidas “isn’t expected to re-up”.

But that’s the clickbait he’s trying to sell.
I heard we were already out shopping other more lucrative deals, knowing they were talking to olemiss. So that if/when they made this announcement, we were ready to tell the germans who gave us A&M leftovers for years to 17 off.

So they knew what could happen and did it anyway.

We can say what we want, but I'm pretty sure Mississippi just cashed in on a better deal than we have or are likely to get while their stock is at an all time high. Adidas will have buyers remorse 5 years from now, but that's their problem. Meanwhile we'll be treated as an afterthought by them for the rest of our contract term. Hopefully both sides will just agree to terminate it early. I'd be fine with us signing with New Balance, Nike, or Under Armor. Whichever is the highest bidder.

I'm guessing KT could help our stock tremendously. When they start losing again, and it's going to happen, Adidas will figure out they over payed. Plus, I'd rather have Nike anyway. It's a better look and a more popular brand in this country.

Well, last week I verbalized my several year long avoidance of all things nike due to their "activism."......then read today that the CEO has acknowledged the damage activism has done, and the intent to go back to concentrating on sports......and I tried on a pair of the running shoes, and almost bought them.........so if Nike has truly changed directions, then I could go with Nike branding for STATE..

BUT......

What I saw that was interesting in the UM/Addidas deal was that adidas acknowledged that UM had a identity in their current branding and had no desire to change.

I hope that STATE would have the wisdom to exercise more control over branding and ownership rights.....which today, I trust us to do. All that to say, when I but new State apparel, I would like it to be b/c I have lost weight, or worn a shirt out, or simply b/c I like the new shirt.....NOT, b/c we constantly have a new "logo"
